"WTF is a 'donair '? 3*/5. OK, so I 'm an American who had never before heard of 'donair '. What an odd name for a food product; what it is, really, is gyros meat with more beefiness and less mystery. I, too, thought it strange that they have the meat back there on its vertical spit, but what they serve to you comes from a chafing dish where it sits in some kind of liquid. Once you order, the server places a pita on top of the meat in said dish and puts the lid back on for a few minutes, then takes it out and builds the sandwich. What results is a kind of wet pita wrap; additions for mine were onions, tomato (flavor-free), 'cheese ', hot peppers, and that weird sweet white sauce. Good beefy flavor, but next time I 'm omitting the sweet sauce in favor of a good squirt of srirachi; tzatziki would be good, too, but I don 't remember if it was available."
