"Upon entering the establishment the staff were super friendly and welcoming. Definitely a cozy atmosphere that makes you feel right at home but still very rustic. My mother loves Italian and I'm trying to find a really great Italian restaurant here in Bakersfield. We had to order to go because we were short on time. Only 10 minutes from our house, I was expecting a little more. Literally, for the price, we figured the portion size was going to be bigger. Maybe it's my American mindset that a meal should consist of more that 6 ravioli for around $20. The short rib ravioli was obviously hand made and had great flavor though. As for the calamari, we were expecting your average run of the meal whole octopi bites covered in tempura and a sauce on the side. Apparently this is not how it is with this restaurant. It's more of a calamari steak. Think of it as a Salisbury steak but calamari. Surprisingly, it was really tasty. I feel like we actually got more calamari when it was served in this form versus any regular restaurant. Update: we went back and ate in house to see if it was a different experience. Took 15 minutes to get our order and 28 minutes after that to get our food. It was perfectly portioned! Most places give you way to much but these guys have the estimated amount of one adult to be satisfied and not overly full. Really delicious food. You've got to try any of their pastas in the cream caper sauce."

"This place is perfect for large groups and its part of the Legacy of Classic Bakersfield CA. This is a Basque restaurant/ bar. What does that mean? Not sure other than one food order would feed 3 people. I got the steak , Basque style and there was no way I could finish it myself. (Yhe beef tongue was delicious) And I'm a big Boy! Our group was there Celebrating The Bakersfield Sound with The Soda Crackers after their big show with 3 of the Pioneers of The Bakersfield Sound at The Bakersfield Music Hall of Fame."

"Hubby and I walked in and sat at the bar. The guy sitting at the bar barely acknowledged us, then walked behind the bar and down the stairs. Never said I'll be right with you"or anything. We sat there a few more minutes and walked out. We were the only customers in the place. Won't be back."
