"Honestly the 'Bus ' is the best thing by a country mile, I cannot say enough kind things about the driver and the experience. Made my son 's day.As for the pub it 's solid standard pub fare. Nothing outstanding but it is supper comfortable and I like it. Now there is one point, kids are not allowed to play pool, even under adult supervision. This is a change from previous years. My son is 12 y/o and plays pool at home but because there was a 'incident ' kids can 't play. This cut short our visit and we didn 't spend as much as we probably would have had we been allowed to play. Miner 's Bay Pub on Mayne did allow us to play and spent hours there and our bill was much higher. I 'm a gulf islander and love this place just think they need to rethink that one policy."

"Our visit was off-season and there was only one other party in the pub but a fire was lit in the wood stove to make the area we sat nice and cosy and the service was attentive. The piece of halibut with yam fries was excellent as was the pulled pork burger and salad. We could not have hoped for better and I don't think I have ever had a better meal in a pub."
