"What an amazing place. We had the pate and soup to start and the hake and swordfish (specials) for mains, followed by sharing the cheeseboard platter. This place has a lovely ambience and the hosts really know how to make their guests feel welcome. The food was delicious would thoroughly recommend."

"Friendly service, nice atmosphere and amazing food. I had the lamb which was delicious and came with tasty mash and perfectly cooked green veg. There was plenty of food, really worth the money. Friends had mussels, risotto, steak and lobster all equally delicious."

"Besides selling their famous tipper, the shop sells a series of other fishy products such as smoked salmon (delict), fresh fish (we have chosen halibut), fish soups etc. plus a small selection of other items. definitely worth a visit while in craster, even if it. a waiting queue outside (which is often) they sold completely frozen boiled lobsters when we were there for ridiculously cheap."

"The food we had today was absolutely beautiful. Steak cooked to perfection and the scallops were fresh and succulent served with flavousome tomatoes and black pudding. The husband loved the lobster and creme brulee for dessert. Service was also great. What a treat!"

"My wife and I spend about 3 months in northumberland, visit a series of beauty spots, historical sites and equally important to look for great restaurants. our internet research and talks with locals led us to the old boat house in...Amble to lunch. the location of the restaurant (right on the coast) and near a series of interesting huts that houses a lot of objects was immediately attractive. this was given by entering into the restaurant and a very warm welcome by the staff and a table directly on the harbour. all very positiw, but this was just the prelude for some amazing food. we chose the common seafood plate – a huge wooden tablet with a whole lobster, perfectly cooked sea crumbs, lindisfarne oysters, roll mop herings, smoked makrele, hot cold smoked salmon, shetland mussels and delicious broken fish goujons roy pawns with delicious freshly baked freshly baked we would have stopped (should) after this amazing display of delicious food, but we ended the order of desserts – they were also delicious and glad that we did not leave. we can recommend a visit to the old boat house for a culinary extravaganza!"
