"I really dislike giving out low ratings, but feel as if I must in this instance. We had a booked for a party of twenty to celebrate a 90th birthday three weeks prior—one of two unrelated groups of twenty on the same day—Paper Road was happy to accept the booking. One would imagine this would have been enough time for the business to manage staffing supplies for the day of the event. Sadly, this was not the case. The menu itself was disappointingly sparse; only a handful of dishes (disregarding an inordinate number of pizzas) were present, the bistro menu, where some of the most appetising meals were listed, was not available. One of the few remaining dishes was not available at all (really? You should have either removed this from your menu, or otherwise ensure supplies existed to create the dish, given the three week lead time provided). While we waited for up to 45 minutes to dishes being served, water replacements from the staff were sparse, and we often needed to request it ourselves. When some of the meals were finally served (it took another 20 minutes for the final meals to arrive, the last people were being served when everyone else had already finished), the food was of so-so quality. Not what you 'd expect for a celebratory event. The lamb dishes were overcooked; and steaks requested rare were closer to medium–well done. Not that there was much meat to determine this though, the open steak sandwich was by weight 90% potato chips, bread, and a very light salad—only a few pieces of steak per plate. In fact, some of the final meals completely lacked salad altogether (having run out of lettuce, tomatoes, onion). When someone commented on how some of the pasta dishes looked different, one of the waitresses freely admitted it was simply out of a packet. Such a disappointing venue for what should 've been a special day. This establishment clearly lacks the resources and management skills required to effectively cater to groups, and should be avoided for any more than a table 's worth of people. If you can 't handle a sizeable group, you should simply decline, not provide a shoddy experience to those patrons. Avoid, avoid, avoid."

"The best movie theater in Wairarapa (well, there aren 't many here). The movie theater seats are very comfortable. I usually order a large flat white that they bring to the theater in a glass keep cup. That is the best coffee in town! Another time I tried coffee in a takeaway cup, quite different. I 've only dined there once or twice. Food is nice, but too 'fancy ' for a simple stomach, with lots of fusion."
