"We called in for lunchtime drinks whilst at the Dudsbury golf course the pub was a few minutes walk down the road. Beer was excellent and staff very welcoming, would definately call back in when in area."

"A very nice family own pub with excellent food. They don't have any microwaves in their kitchen and have a seperate vegan preparation area for everything that can be. The staff were friendly and the manager Alex was lovely. On our way back to London we came back for the Sunday roast. It was excellent, I had a nut roast, but other members of my party had and enjoyed the lamb and beef roast."

"1 poor 10 excellent Welcome 10 Atmosphere 9 Cleanliness 9 Speed of serve 9 Attentiveness 9 Food quality 9 Value for money 9 Drinks 9 Popped into this pub as I was driving past. Welcome was swift and friendly, seated then given a moment before we were asked about drinks. Food ordered beef rib signature burger, both were timely to arrive, and very tasty we both enjoyed our mains the onion rings were amazing. The beef rib very tender and veg beautifully done. We both had dessert, which was well presented and extremely nice. Top marks, look forward to coming back."

"My wife and I took my year old mother who lives in Verwood to John Browns for lunch today . We arrived around and were surprised not to see the nice range of sunday roasts or pre made salads/ploughmans which we used to...be served at the counter in the past. So we duly ordered from their menu , fish and chips, macaroni cheese and I had salmon fishcake with avocado and salad. We put our trays back,collected a couple of cup of tea and a can of Coke and my wife paid and we were given a number to put on table. There was a sign up saying there would be a minute wait for food so we found a table and drank our drinks . minutes after we placed our order the food arrived, fishcake did not contain much salmon , the macaroni cheese lacked taste and the only good meal was the fish and chips which my mum had chosen. There appeared to be plenty of front of house staff so we were surprised that the food took so long to arrive especially as the cafe was not very full and both my wife and myself were hungry on our way home to Hampshire a few hours later. I do not know if this was a restricted summer menu but we will not be coming back to eat at John Browns unless the sunday roasts return and are served up at the counter . Very dissapointed. "We used Sorrels to provide a buffet after a family funeral. The food was really enjoyed by all and beautifully presented. There were lots of interesting different dishes that made it so attractive. Sandra and her companion were so attentive serving the food and thorough in clearing up. This is the third time i have used them and the standard cannot be beaten. Thank you"

"Nice pub, good menu and food is good. Service somewhat slow, but they did apologise. Staff very pleasant. Would recommend but be mindful if you have to be away quick"

"Visiting Baskets Blooms this morning, so nice to see the lovely Squeaky Wheelbarrow cafe reopended today. They ran through the social distancing system with customers, there 's hand wash, and plenty of outdoors tables. Oh yes, our coffees and coffee and walnut cake were delicious and good value. Great that you 've reopened."

"Nice Calvary but all cold. Supervisor and staff were rude and mad mannered with no people skills whatsoever. This is our local but we will never put ourselves through this experience again. It was my birthday. Very disappointed by horrible staff with nil hospitality skills. A disgrace Low standards ."
