"My wife and I have been in Split for 10 days, we have ate at several “highly rated” restaurants, which turned out to be average at best. Tonight, we hit the jackpot, we decided to try Bakra, everything was absolutely delicious!!! I had the Ribeye steak and the Cheesecake, my wife had the Chicago steak and chocolate cake. Both were amazing, I haven’t had a steak that juicy and flavorful in years, and the cheesecake…Wow! Bravo to the cooks!!! The atmosphere is terrific, cozy and inviting, our waiter “Tonci” made us feel like family, very friendly and attentive. Well worth your time and money, don’t look any further, eat here! Thank you Bakra and Tonci for a lovely evening!"

"Thank you Mazzgoon from a grateful vegetarian! So good we ate there twice in 2 days. I struggled to find vegetarian options in Croatia at first (other than side salads or simple pasta so Mazzgoon was a hidden gem for me! We walked past once or twice, seeing the 3 tables on the tiny side street, not realising there was a beautiful courtyard at the back. I'm so glad the friendly lady at the front chatted to us and showed me the menu options otherwise I may never have discovered Mazzgoon. I had a delicious raw noodle pad Thai that was surprisingly filling, full of sticky peanut and sesame flavours, and I returned the next day to try the seaweed, asparagus and goat cheese salad which had lovely Japanese flavours running through it. My husband had a fantastic smoky risotto that he absolutely loved. The homemade breads were incredible, so soft and perfect with the lovely Croatian olive oil. The staff were really helpful guiding me to wines that I might like (and I did their wines were all really great!"

"It is difficult not to see this relaxed food bar in the narrow streets of the Old Town of Split. Both by the sofas with colorful cushions, and by their name, that jumps in sight. And the fact that the manager speaks Italian and has lived in Italy suggests that the meaning of the name is not completely unknown to him. But let's not investigate anymore. This cosy bar serves drinks and also good quality food (especially pasta made there), and is very popular, especially at night, when it is filled for the snack. Of course, there is free wi-fi (and, in fact, tables during the afternoon are often occupied by clients with laptop or tablet). Split is really a recommended place."

"Never 5* made so much sense! What a perfect dinner! Staff is amazing , full of suggestions. Each plate another description. Very kind and always smiling. We had live music (amazing artist) outside area. We can smoke ! There are vegetarian options and God that was delicious. The starters with different butters and bread wow blowed my mind. It was our last night in Split and we drink and eat really quality food. It’s not cheap but it’s not expensive for what you get. Amazing! Free WiFi. Thank you all for the evening."

"First day,first impression :The best pizza in town, reasonable prices and good service, I choosed the pizza with shrimbs and musles. Better than Bokamora. Went back the next day and ordered lasagne/ bolognese and a pizza with shrimb and musles, my favorit pizza, I asked for some ekstra shrimbs and musles instead of tuna which I dont like, offered to pay 20 kunor for the ekstra, I also ordered an artiskok for 35, kunor ekstra.A Tuborg beer 30, kunor and sparkel water 20, kunor The sad thing though was that when you put all together lasagne 95, kunor pizza 105, kunor it should be 305, kunor. But when the bill came the servant claim 385, ?? He explained that the ekstra shrimbs and musles was in the 80, kunor i would not accept that, and also the lasagne was cold in the midle. The end was that I only should pay the 305, ."
