"Half elegant lounge like restaurant and half cheap neighborhood sushi bar. The combination does not work especially if you are looking for beautiful ambience and a fun night out. The service was uneven and was not well kept with appetizers and entrees at the same time. Why? And in the end, the food was not so good. Oysters were not possible. Sushi rolls didn't really work. The famous black rice was nothing special. Altogether only a disappointing experience."

"Wel we avoided this place for a long time even though it's in our neighborhood mainly because of the mixed reviews and because there are other restaurants in the area that we like. We decided to try it and won't be back. The place is very uninviting. Dark walls and looks very little natural light, a bit like a bunker with a sushi bar. The menu looks very exciting at a glance with a variety of izakaya inspired Japanese dishes. So we ordered a variety of things since everything sounded tasty. Every single dish was bland including the meat dishes and the fish. Absolutely no taste. The same sauces used for everything. One of the most dissatisfying meals I've ever had. Service was ok, we got the check and got out."

"Any place located in Yaohan plaza gets extra points, and the food is very good. Chawamushi and Yakatori and monkfish liver! I felt i was back in Torrance! All the food was excellent, the Hamachi I really liked too. Weird interaction with a host that's worth mentioning we have double booked reservations and I trying to call and let them know. When I arrived I told the host that I was apologizing for the double booking and told him that I tried to call, he took it to mean that I was annoyed that he hadn't answered the phone and told me about six different ways that they were way too busy to answer the phone. Even though he took about 5 minutes to explain that to me in every angle possible. Didn't ruin the food though!"

"This place is great. We came from Orange County for a concert and intended on eating on Sunset but this place was the only one without a wait. We sat at the sushi bar and had about 5 different dishes. Our chef was knowledgeable in what was fresh and gave us a couple chef 's specials . Everything tasted fresh and wonderful. Great food for half price, we were stuffed with a sake for $47 for the entire meal."
