"I think one star is too much. We were looking forward to lunch here and we were seated pretty promptly after they took our order. Our server wasn't the friendliest, but we chocked it up to covid fatigue that we are all feeling. However, my beer never came, even after our food was served and after a wait that felt longer than the 20+ minutes to get our sandwiches. My husband had to ask for it twice, going inside after our food had arrived. But that really wasn't the disappointment, waits happen. It was my blue molded bread. What made me flip the sandwiches over was that it tasted stale. It wasn't only stale, it was moldy. The reaction from the server was lackluster and when they replaced the sandwich, they reused the same food that was on the plate including the meat on the original sandwich. I really was disappointed both in the food, presumed high standards and indifferent staff. Perhaps there is a standard for rich locals and not tourists who spent a lot of money and time to come visit L.A. Don't waste your valuable time or money! So many other wonderful restaurants in the area."

"We met the friend of our sohne for the first time in the afternoon tee. everything was really nice and special, and the service personnel/wait staff were excellent and super friendly and super stay. the person who has called us to confirm the reservation name is the same. we were really glad that we selected the maybourne hotel for this occasion. it is one of the best afternoon teas we have ever visited. it was really nice to enjoy the afternoon comfortably without anyone hurling us. we spent almost three hours there, which was very unusual and really special. we thank the entire staff for a special time. really great day."

"“High tea at Peninsula Hotel or is it Burning Sun without proper Sun Shaded Shelter! I would call this a lousy, inacceptable “high tea” experience and as a freedom driver forced to sit “on the back of the bus” There were empty tables and were not occupied until well 1 3/4 hours later. These had shadow protection!!! The hotel has not enough parasol protection, and refused to have an additional small terrace umbrella available!!! Our group was delegated to the rear corner of the roof, walled and completely separated from the roof terrace as if they were separated to the back of the bus! I went to the Peninsula Hotel with a Meet Up group of about 10 people to wait and find a beautiful set-lobby tea room table, with piano music~, our group was delegated to sit in the farthest corner of the rooftop of the Peninsula Hotel! The tropical iced tea I had with liberal refills was quite normal! The dishes I saw are sucked! Served and placed in hot sun, somehow the Peninsula own special note that made every item SUCK, in my opinion! When I saw the menu and prices where we sat, even the 5.00 dollar annoying tropical iced tea made a taste in my mouth! In fact, the peninsula introduced: “Every little detail is thought out and considered.”, a quote and is Bull Shit! The hotel did what they could to isolate our group as we did not appear as the 90212 Yuppie affulent set! For me, a beautiful day, with a Beverly Hills Zip Code, is the ultimate in “Plastic” over inflatable experience. I'm glad I got street parking and hotel validated Valet Service, which I think is $8 for the first two hours, and an additional $2 per hour... or something. Don't call me. I went to this meeting, as I went on the way to Santa Monica for a 4PM a demonstration of “Unmistaken Child”, a Tibetan story of a Tibetan monk will find his teacher as a reincarnated tulip child! I enjoyed it! Other than this I would never have visited this meeting, never visit Beverly Hills~ “to avoid my way of space”! Beverly Hills is not in my reference frame!"

"Booked an early dinner, wanted to check this place out for a while. Having read some of the reviews, I was a little reluctant, but we were promptly seated. Ordered drinks, the bar was a little slow, but nothing to complain about. My wife ordered the steak salad, which was good. I ordered the prime burger and sweet potato fries and a salad. Burger was really good, two patties cooked to order, they brought fries instead of the sweets, but they corrected the mistake and the sweet potato fries were tasty. Would have been better hot. The salad was fresh with two big strips of bacon. Overall the food, service and ambiance of the restaurant was between fair and good. Might give them another shot, but wouldn't rush back."
