"TWG stands for The Wellness Group. It's a Singaporean franchise that specializes in tea. Although TWG Tea Shangrila Mall is located in an open space in the middle of the East Wing, it seemed like a different world when we stepped inside its transparent glass walls. Everything about it definitely screams high-end. <br>

Aside from the usual menus, we were given a Tea Book. It has detailed descriptions for over a hundred varieties of tea, all of which are being offered by TWG Tea. Hubby wanted something along the lines of Japanese green tea (but not Genmaicha since we always have Genmaicha) and so the server suggested Sencha.<br>

So we ordered a pot of Sencha (P295). Sencha is described in the Tea Book as a green tea with a strong, grassy fragrance and floral accents. It’s supposed to go well with meals. One pot contains roughly three cups. You can’t ask for more hot water when it runs out. I thought it was just so-so, nothing special. I probably would not order it...

"The ambiance and interiors (not to mention the name) feel high class. We were expecting a pricey menu but were quite pleased that the prices are reachable, especially when they gave us the $1 menu. First was the pomodoro from the $1 menu. Small serving of course, but tasted great and very much a good deal for the P50, in my opinion. Then I had the Pound for Pound from the regular menu while my boyfriend had the double patty cheeseburger. The double patty burger looked divine. The pound for pound, however, was slightly disappointing on first sight as the serving seemed small. <br>

On to the taste- I guess I might have had high expectations, (and who wouldn't with the celebrity chef's name attached?) but I felt like it should've been better. "This smaller, not your full blown Pizza Hut is just below my office. Not all things near are great choices. <br>

Their tagline says fresh. My Bolognese was reheated in the microwave. It had a decent serving for Php 145 but had a not so good after taste. The Super Supreme was bland and really just all bread. I don't see value in eating pizza this way.

"Ayala's newest mall, 30th is one of the nearest malls from work. And lately when I have no food blogs or meetings to go to, I go here for lunch. I just have to bear the really hot weather lately as I walk here. In their lower ground area are a number of restaurants and Pepper Lunch occupies one of the biggest spots. <br>

I got their signature Chicken Pepper. Its meat was presented half cooked and I was expected to either put sweet honey brown sauce and/or savory pepper gravy to it. This then enables a sizzling effect which then allows it to cook further. Watch out though as it gets really hot. Also don't put too much of sauce because the dish is already flavored. <br>

I also ordered extra curry powder for just Php 10. I was planning on having curry sauce but they were charging me a hefty Php 130 for that. <br>

For more nutritional content, I added a side of extra beansprouts, corn and french beans for Php 40 and a Sesame Chicken Salad, a salad in a cup for Php 99. These were good complimentary additions to balance my heavy lunch.

"Spatzle was one of the hottest places that EDSA Shang's new wing opened about four years ago. Since I hardly go there, this is my first time at this place for lunch. It was supposed to be in a ramen place nearby but at least this came from one of my places to cross off my list of places in this mall. My colleagues ordered Swedish meatballs that I should have ordered afterwards. Spatzle is named after a type of pasta from Europe, as it serves European comfort food here, such as Rosti, a potato dish of Swiss origin. Heard the owner is the original owner of Teriyaki Boy. This is a cool treat because I was a huge fan of the first store in Greenhills. <br>

I ordered one of their supposedly bestsellers, the Coffee Crusted Bistecca, PhP585. Boy was it hard. I asked her to cook it medium infrequently to medium, but I found it very difficult to show. Which is a shame because the brandy reduction was good and I liked the coffee and pepper crust. ???????? <br>
