"The fish in the salmon roll didn't look like salmon. Not bad, but clearly not salmon (I've caught enough to know; flesh was grey, not pink/red-orange). Salads were swimming in enough dressing for 3x the greens. Lettuce was fresh and crisp, but drowning. Only one fork for salad and main entree. Disposable bamboo chopsticks. The dinners were a saving grace. Both the hibachi teriyaki beef and hibachi steak plates were very good. Beef was tender and flavorful and veggies were firm but not crunchy. Fried rice was very good too. Might've been a one-and-done for us but the hibachi plates were good enough to repeat. Update: I discovered the morning after my visit my credit card was missing. I returned to Hayashi Midtown (last place I used the card) 15 minutes prior to them opening for lunch. They let me in and returned my card which they'd secured overnight in their cash register. The card had not been used. Extremely pleased with their collective integrity. Plus a star."

"I 've been craving ramen. Went here because it 's close. As I approached the restaurant, a guy came out of the restaurant, and walked down the sidewalk to somewhere.A couple minutes later, as I was standing in line, the same guy came back in from outside, went directly behind the counter and asked if he could help me.A bit taken aback, I said yes you can wash your hands . After some back and forth and push back from him, he said something to the effect of, I 'm going to put on gloves .Yes, with the same dirty hands you were just outside doing who knows what with. I left with no further exchange. I shouldn 't have to convince a food service worker to wash his hands after coming in from outside.Will never return. If they do that where you can see them, what do they do in the kitchen behind closed doors? Really had a taste for ramen, too."
