"I love Matchbox and have been going there for years. The food has been very inconsistent as of late. I never know if I'm going to get a delicious or mediocre breakfast."

"Whole Foods was sold out of Branzino but I found it in stock at Fish Lads. I was waiting at the counter for few minutes before staff came from the back. The guy then went to talk to another member of staff while I?m still waiting. While he was walkingback over, he saw another customer waiting and asked them if they needed help. I had to say, ?Excuse me sir, I?ve been waitinghere.? He immediately came to help then but had a cold/nonchalant presentation. You would think that for the price you pay perpound on seafood here that they would at least have courteous workers. The guy never even said have a good day. Bad business."

"Great breakfast! The Turner Benedict. English muffin toast topped with Swiss cheese, grilled tomatoes, Turkey, poached eggs and hollandaise. Very unique and inviting place to eat in East Grand Rapids. Good coffee! Would strongly recommend to be your breakfast place. Large variety of food on menu. Peaceful, relaxing place to enjoy a satisfying meal. Great service. No wait."

"This is a very comfortable place for a casual breakfast or lunch. The menu features their in-house smoked meats which are all amazing. Also have an in-house bakery with pastries, cookies, breads, etc. Had the Manna Hash today and it was amazing. Cubed Manna Potatoes mixed with house smoked Corned Beef under 2 eggs over medium topped with house hollandaise. Can't wait to come back and try more. Forgot to take a picture before I cleaned my plate but will be adding to the review upon the next visit. Open until 3pm Wednesdays through Sundays."

"Love it! Tried the Eggs Benedict; they make their own version of the Hollandaise sauce that I personally thought was delicious. The ash-browns did not need spices because they tasted wonderfully as they were served. I also had sausages that were cooked right."

"I had the fried chicken flour and the honey bacon as an app, the speck was thin chewing and barely honey pepper! then the chicken was extremely over boiled, it was like gum, even the mais was even evil! only what was edible was kartoffel and gravy baked and that was just ok! I will never go again and recommend to go to 76th dinner above this place, it also seemed as if we went back in the 90s decoration."

"Quick lunch on the way to the airport, place was not busy and staff were very pleasant and showed good service awareness. Interesting and unique menu with brunch offerings on one side and tapas on the other. Paellas were not available, but that was appropriate as that is not a quick meal. Although I really wanted to try several of the tapas offerings, that would have been better with a party of 4+ instead of just us two, so we both went for the brunch side of the menu. My colleague enjoyed his egg scramble served in a small cast iron pan, and I had a savory Breakfast Hash dish with chorizo, bacon and avocado that was absolutely scrumptious. I matched with a stout from Old Holland brewery called Dragon’s Milk that was a superb accompaniment. The only complaint was that they only served toast, when corn tortillas would have been more complimentary, but that was made up for by the delicious house made jam that came with the multi grain bread. Highly recommend San Chez Bistro! Hope to come back soon with a bigger party and much more time to sample their awesome cocktail list and many tapas dishes."
