"Maybe it's because we visited during the Espelette chili fete but it wasn't the best dining experience. Ok so the food was ok as it turned out but a set menu and no choices for a set price you had to pay up front when reserving detracted big time. We were then asked if we'd be having wine with dinner and then when we said yes were asked to pay for that up front as well...totally bizarre behaviour and not what you'd expect from any restaurant. When one of our party didn't come to eat there was a lot of argument about the refund even though the restaurant was largely empty when we dined. In the end all was resolved amicably, but the experience didn't make us feel like we'd return again."
