"We were recommended to the Goldener Schlussel because of our interest in trying some typical Bernese food. The maitre d' MIchael took good care of the five of us from beginning to end. Four of us had a braised beef dish and one...a local trout all of it was very good, along with wine and wonderful desserts. The service was congenial and interested in our experience, and we are most happy to have had a taste of local flavors."

"Beautiful restaurant with a beautiful terrace right over the river of Bern Altstadt. The menu is (unsafe) all in German, but the staff was extremely patient and explains everything to us. I'm not sure what the names of the things we were with... but what we had (pasta with minced meat, meat pastries, ravioli and a cheesecake with honey) was very good. Our server made the trip but really, he was funny and incredibly helpful."

"The restaurant is very well visited. the service very friendly. the offer has long been stable Italian cuisine. I didn't want to experiment with pizza or pasta. the dish is usually rarely served and so it came to experiment, unintentionally on my part. the waiter asked when eating several times if everything was good. hungry and deepened in the conversation I ass the half of the fat, small dinger with small black points, probably the eyes. he apologised later that the fish were not so fresh or properly prepared or the like. I had no complaints and we did not have to pay, but provisionally no further visits to the restaurant azzurro for me."

"What could you ideally want on a freezing winter night, in a stately, quiet, medieval city like Bern? The unequivocal answer is: a touch of mediterranean warmth! And that’s exactly what we found at this quaint tapas restaurant, in the heart of the old part...of the old city of old Bern in front of the italianate city hall. The service was excellent provided by a handsome multiculti Persian-American-Swiss waiter. The tapas, just finger-licking good. Thankfully well crafted and not heavily olive-oil-garlic laden (a trick used by pseudo tapas restaurants attempting to reach out to the selective club of more authentic tapas restaurants). The pulpo was perfect. I could’ve eaten just that! By the way, if you don’t have a table, just stand at the bar. It is just as good."
