"This review is based on food only as takeaway is the only available option at this time with the pandemic <br/>Ordered the sezchuan chilli chicken which was very good, fried rice (tasty) and king prawn ho fun noodles (a bit tasteless, but the king prawns were excellent quality). Big selection of items, quite pricey but from what I can see you are paying for the quality of ingredients. Keen to try their toothfish dishes next!"

"Always love going to the Aviary. Love the decor, the service is always lovely (although the service staff at the Bird Cage seemed a little confused with what they had on the menu) and the drinks are always good.<br>

Decided to try out some food:<br>

• fried chicken (w/ chilli, maple and sesame): fried chicken was bomb ???? (abit too sweet for my liking but I would definitely order it again)<br>

• pork and ginger gyoza (in hot and sour soup): gyoza was nice, could do with a little more filling and the soup (which was essentially tom yum soup) could do with a bit more kick ????<br>

• BBQ pork bao: loved the soft bao dough but thought they ruined the pork ???? (it was dried out from being fried)<br>

Overall the food was a bit of a hit and miss for me. The food is pricey for the portions you get but I will still always come back for the drinks!<br>"

"My bf and I visited this restaurant a few years back and it was not a great experience. we ordered a serving of steaming shanghai pigeon, but had to wait 25 minutes and the restaurant was empty. When we asked the waitress, she said that the kitchen staff needed time to cook them. or more than they have forgotten our order because we have received our food 5 minutes after. whatever the reason was, it was simply not acceptable to wait 25 minutes on a dump. we were reluctant to come back this time, but for the sake of research, we made another visit and young, we were not one for a surprise when we were in the restaurant, we could see the difference in the inner, saw it newer...read more"

"Great authentic Chinese food, lovely service from what seems to be a husband and wife team. He (the chef) came out to make sure our food was ok. He was very proud of his efforts and has every right to be. We ate the salt and pepper squid. Not too oily, not chewy and a nice touch of spice with the chill. Then we ordered the beef fillet hot pot. Enough for four people, this super flavour some dish came with the most tender beef strips, noodles and cabbage and was an absolute highlight. Will be heading back for more!"

"Get in early. Even on a cold Monday night early August there is a line out the front from 5:15pm-7:45pm. We didn’t book. I don’t know if you can book. It could be byo we didn’t check but some people bought in their beers. Highly...recommend the dumplings with peanut chilli sauce. The cooked cucumber was okay. The robot bought us our first dish but then the lady delivered the rest of our dishes. I’m glad I’ve visited this place. I do recommend. And for those that can’t read the order, their are pictures associated with the meal. Oh your order on the iPad for the table and you have to let the wait staff know when you’ve completed your order."
