"We were in the Marzipan store 2 times at the beginning of November 2015 and would do so immediately upon a new visit to Lübeck. Unlike in the Niederegger, the cafe and the shop (which is located in the outbuilding) have been divided in the Marzipan store, so that you don't have to fight through visitors' halls. The memory acts primarily by being a memory. Fortunately, you did not modernize and made a Schickimicki cafe. Stirring wooden beams, sprout windows and a cosy atmosphere with beautiful ceiling lights. The seating is loose and not as crowded as in the Niederegger. No operation at the table, but self-service at the bar just a few meters away. The service behind the counter is friendly and unobtrusive and the quality of the cake is excellent. We tried a total of 4 cakes at two visits. On the street side beautiful views of the undertrave and on the back on the designed courtyard, on which you can sit in summer. So clear recommendation. The same applies to the sale next door: not overloaded, not rumbled, but (in the beginning Advent season) atmospheric and inviting to browse. In the upper floor, a well-made exhibition, lovingly decorated and clearly better than the disappointing marzipan exhibition at the Niederegger. Conclusion: we like to come back."

"The stammhaus is the main Niederegger store. Upstairs is the sit down coffee restaurant with the world's best delights in cakes, tortes, sweets and light meals (waffles, soups, etc) and of course: great coffee. Downstairs is the big shop of all things marzipan and other sweet gifts for all occasions great and small. All products freshly made in the marzipan factory with unchanged original recipes. Museum of marzipan is also upstairs. In addition: outside accessible ice cream shop."

"Very nice, traditional café house where you can stay longer. While on the ground floor the tourists are pushing past marzipan figures, on the upper floor you can enjoy the MUSS when you are here. The classic, Niederegger Marzipan Nuss Torte. I drank a hot chocolate with marzipansirup after that my need for sugar was covered for the next days, but it is highly recommended. The services were friendly and super fast."

"Six vegan burgers all different and unusual. the truffle burger is the hammer that is horny that vegans also find a dessert here. there are also food and soy milk for coffee and hot chocolate. beautiful operation"

"No matter which sector of town bakery you also take, the quality is too good everywhere, the selection is very good, but it is somewhat irritating that the offer differs slightly. The baked goods have nothing to do with advertising, as well as industrial goods, but you can enjoy it very well, unfortunately everything is somewhat too expensive and in some industries the female staff is quite zigzag"

"Our original intent was to browse the candy wonderfully crafted marzipan. Then we saw a sign by the elevator for lunch that day they offered Swiss veal in cream sauce. That did it! Though it was pricy, it is one of our all time...favorites. We should have asked though about it. It was topped with lots of onions yellow peppers which is not the way we've had it in Switzerland. But it was good nevertheless. Though it was difficult to chose from among the vast dessert selections, the hazelnut torte was the star of the meal. From the windows you can see the new fountains down the block and the old Rathaus just across the street. This is not a beerhall setting, rather relaxed fine dining"
