"Every year when we visit Monterey, THIS is the ALL-VEGAN place we ALWAYS look forward to eating at. As a vegan family, this place is no joke! El Cantaro is the best!!! Clean, beautiful, facilities. Friendly and accommodating staff. Delicious vegan food served consistently. The steak fajitas were smoky and flavorful. I recommend getting a couple extra tortillas with a side of guacamole to share."

"Amazing experience! the staff was very polite and served us very well. we have the berry lemonade, make it yourself omelette, pear pancakes and breakfast salad. we also saw a lot of people coming and going out ordering from the menu, baked and coffee. very delicious and fresh food! will come back"

"Excellent cafe that's been around long enough that I've been going there for more than fifteen years. Feels like very little has changed in that time. Good food, good service, free tea. Feels a lot more like a place you'd actually find in Japan than many more upscale places do. It's a staple and icon of downtown Monterey."

"If you don't want to waste a day at Din Tai Fung, this place is a solid replacement. <br/ <br/ Soup dumplings here are good. If I could take the innards of Mama Lu's and the wrapper of Din Tai Fung, and create some Dragon Ball Z fusion, you'd no doubt have the best soup dumplings ever. <br/ <br/ Salt and pepper spare ribs, beef noodle soup and beef wrap also very fire. The food is a little oily, but not to the point of being soggy. I mean that's why we eat Chinese food though right?"

"I got a few cupcakes to celebrate my son's birthday. The inside of the store is beautiful. The owner was there and she was very nice and was vey informative about her pastries! There was a small area to snack in, but I was in a little rush. I'm not certain if there is a restroom.As for the cupcakes... I got 3 different cupcakes. I got a strawberry, chocolate vanilla. The strawberry vanilla cupcakes unfortunately were not the greatest. The worst part of biting into a cupcake is getting that cornbread muffin texture inside. The strawberry vanilla cupcakes tasted that way. The frosting was excellent. The chocolate cupcake was good. Would I go back? Yes, to try some other dishes.Price: $15"
