"We were extremely disappointed with our experience at The Botanical. We stumbled across this after a walk through the gardens, wanting a drink and an early evening meal. From start to finish the service was horrible. The wait staff were not engaged and honestly quite rude. They walked past our table on multiple occasions, looked at our empty glasses and left them there, not offering another drink even though it was quiet when we visited. The staff were too busy talking amongst themselves to care about their paying guests. The atmosphere was completely unwelcoming and we felt awkward the whole time having the owner standing over us (we sat outside on the street), yet not bothering to serve us. The food was overpriced and lack lustre. The only positive, it has a big wine/drinks list if that's your thing. I would never spend another cent at this establishment."

"The woman who seemed to be in charge for the evening was most unpleasant. She complained because the four people at the one table didn't provide a group order. An entree of garlic bread was ordered. The woman delivered it, burnt, to our table and almost threw it on to the table. She also delivered one of the mains to our table, once again throwing it on the table. The young male waiter delivered the other mains and he had obviously been to hospitality school as he was much more customer-focused. The food was good but the atmosphere was unpleasant. Would we go there again? Definitely not."
