"After searching on google and reading the google reviews we thought this would be a great choice for dinner after a long train ride We were wrong.... We sat down and ordered two non alcoholic drinks and our dinner which was two salads and a...chicken bacon schnitzel type meal which we planned to share After an hour of feeling ignored we asked for another drink and questioned how far our meal was from being served The bar tender advised they were very busy with the meals for the people who were sitting outside who had ordered After another hour of feeling ignored we finally received our meal The meal itself was quite tasty, basic but yum no complaints there Price was also reasonable After the meal and more being ignored we asked for the bill When we went to pay with our card we were advised that they only took cash (no signs that we could see that said that other wise we would have made sure we had cash) I had to run back to our motel in the rain to get cash Not a huge deal but this day and age I would have thought they would make it verbally known or just have a sign We would have appreciated being told about the long wait for a meal, we definitely don’t mind waiting but we were starving so the unexpected hour wait didn’t suit us that particular night We didn’t appreciate the lack of attentiveness, we could see they were busy but we literally sat right next to the bar and couldn’t even gain eye contact or a gesture for another drink They were taking drinks elsewhere, the lady didn’t mind showing off how she could be a multitasker Overall it was a bad experience and we won’t go back I’d advise only to go there if you have plenty of time, not starving and don’t mind going to bar and asking for anything you require Maybe we caught them on a bad night, in their defence they apologised but it doesn’t mean as much after the fact"

"While pub and bar hopping around the Alsergrund neighbourhood we dropped into Universitats Brauhaus and what a great time we had. Walking in and I knew that we would enjoy our visit here,a multi roomed brewpub and restaurant, rustic decor and furnishings including a cool...looking serving bar and plenty of seating options spread throughout this brewpub both inside and outside looking out onto the nice little park area. We were here on a Tuesday afternoon, greeted warmly by a very pleasant member of staff who served us their light beer, these were served in excellent condition being iced cold and sparkling, we just kicked back,chilled out and planned out the day ahead while sipping our beers. My beer was outside, such a light,hoppy and unpretentious beer bursting with taste,very easy on the tongue, very easy to drink, a beer style I really enjoyed. We really enjoyed our beers in here and the great atmosphere so much so that we ended up staying for another beer each before we decided to move ,for a first time visit to this wonderful brewpub and restaurant we were very impressed indeed. Universitats Brauhaus is easy to locate on Alser Straße in an area teeming with pubs,bars and restaurants. A great brewpub and restaurant, if your in the area well worth checking out."
