"Price performance is not correct. To a 25€ burger not self-made ketchup?! Mayonnaise and ketchup by Heinz in mini-screw glasses?! 0815 Pommes! Butter cookies in aluminum to 4 pieces baguette! Not consistent price/sustainability/sustainability."

"I choose to have the lobster menu, which gave 3 lobster dishes. The first was crab and lobster in cucumber gazpacho. The shellfish was amazing, but I could not help feeling like there was a slight maggi after taste to the soup, now for me that is a no go, but it might be a cultural thing since two days later I went to Schloss Neuweier, where the same taste seem to be coming through the soup. I personally much prefer, to really taste the vegetables instead of the taste of maggi cubes. the pairing of Schiefer Riesling worked well with the shellfish. The next dish was Lobster Nage with peas, broad beans and shellfish essence, amazing, nothing to complain about here, tons of flavor and umami, and really, show cased the lobster meat beautifully. The pairing of St Peray Montis 2015, was hitting the head of the nail. Side note this is a wine that can be ordered online and is well worth the price. Last course was lobster and turbot with chanterelles and a light jus. Again, a dish, so simple that it really comes down to the chef’s respect for the beautiful ingredients, and it did not disappoint. The fish was crispy on the outside at fluffy delicious on the inside. The pairing of Costières de Nimes, Trassegum Bio 2017 also worked really well, underlining the taste of the whole dish. The dessert was peach and melon cold soup with a melon sorbet. I am not a big dessert person, but this was fresh and lovely, though a little to the sweet side for me, but I know that German taste buds love sugar a little more than my Danish’s ones. Overall, besides the few cultural oddities, this was a great experience. The service was a bit more laid back then what I have been used to at Michelin restaurants, meaning that one’s water glass and bread plate might sometimes go empty for a little while, but instead there is a lot of smiles and warmth, and the service feels more like a nice family dinner than a fancy restaurant. I am definitely coming back next time I am in Baden-Baden."
