"With friends on half board. Breakfast was excellent with great service. Food was good quality served hot and plentiful. Evening menu was limited we tried all meals and would recommend that you stay on this menu as the bar food we tried was disappointing, the curry had four small pieces of meat and was watery. The fish and chips were excellent and could not be improved. The bar area is very busy with football on all 6 tvs the staff friendly offered to serve us in the reception that was good."

"Very little meat which was cold, very hard vegetables and the cauliflower cheese was anemic and oozed water. Main meal served on a wooden server which was only letting the water run everywhere on the plate. Very very poor main course."

"The service and food were excellent so enjoyed dining in the restaurant. Just a shame that the food took quite a while to come out and we had to chase the staff on this matter. There were not many diners as we had booked towards the end of the evening so really more than a 20 minute wait was a bit excessive."

"The place is always empty and that's for a very good reason: it's overpriced. As an example, a main with a side plus a dessert cost me £25.50. And I didn't go for the most expensive options! The food is not bad, but the options are very limited. I had to eat there during a whole week and I got tired of it. I ordered pasta dishes in three different occasions and they pretty much had the same taste. I only tried one of the starters and it was very good. The three sides I tried were very bland. But the deserts were tasty. Moreover, there are almost no options for vegetarians which is quite surprising at this age and in this country. A positive thing are the waiters, which are very young people who really try their best to be friendly and offer a good service, even though they aren't exactly the most experienced. In short, do not go there unless someone else pays for the meal."

"A table for a large group in advance for a Friday afternoon. only time available to book were 11 o'clock or 1pm, so decided to 1pm. Bar employees were very busy and stressed and clearly not happy to arrive over a large group and order eating individually. but I called for a week in advance to ask if we had to preorder a big group and the man I spoke with seemed only confused and said someone would call me back what they did not. we couldn't really order food together in the cash and then share payments, how would have been too complicated. it took a long time for all of us to order by 1 worker and consequently food came gradually and some took a long time. we were warned against when we arrived, but we would have expected enough staff to cope with a large advance booking. the booking system should have given us the opportunity to book for lunch, before lunch break. Eating was good and cheap, only do not recommend to book a table for a large group or at peak times."

"The hotel was about a week in business, the hotel was perfect for my needs and being new was very clean and tidy. service was excellent and the staff was very nice. my room was relaxed and had a look at the business park and hills in the far away. the breakfast was very good and the chef cooked me a delicious omelette. outside the sitting corner at the water was also beautiful and relaxing. taxi to aberdeen costs £21 through the hotel, but only £16 to get back from the city. buses seem to be sporadic at the weekend. a very good stay here."
