"Walking towards the entrance, I saw that there were no lights on in this establishment. But the open sign was lit up, so I checked to see if the door was open. Then I walked in to placed my order, the customer service was horrible! I told the cook I want a three-piece dinner plate and a six piece dinner plate. Then I told him my sides for the three-piece fish plate(greens) which comes with it and that I wanted a separate side of coleslaw. I was mocked for mixing up the names of a 3 piece fish plate, and the 6 piece fish dinner. The cook even yelled to the cashier, to verify the names of said menu items. The cook also asked another cook. It does say three-piece fish dinner on the menu doesn 't it?(sarcasm) Then he said I just need your fish order so I can cook it! She needs to know what sides you want, pointing to the cashier. The cashier raised her hands and said, well I 'm helping these two customers . They were over there, talking ! The cashier was talking about myself and my mother who 's on the phone. She was giving her order to you , and she was saying all of this to The cook in my presence! Mind you I was on the phone with my mother she just said she wanted a six piece fish dinner. So while all of this is happening I was holding my cell phone my ear. But there was no talking! He did this as if I wasn 't there. Neither one of these employees tried to take a brief moment and really assist me with the names of the menu items. They just talked to me sarcastically, and mocked me while I tried to put in my order. I obviously wasn 't supposed to be ordering my food with the Cook. I am assuming the cashier was supposed to take the order. But I was never corrected. He took my order as if it was a part of his job. Needless to say, I just left! This just look like this was an argument waiting to happen about something as simple as an order of fish. I was not going to spend my money where the Customer Service was terrible! Also both employees looked like they had a long night of alcohol consumption or some vice. Weird!"

"The food and the service were both very good. the only negatiw was the coating. we both ordered the “plate” section of the menu. there was absolutely zero fine or visual appeal with the coating. everything was just thrown on the plate. everything tasted excellent, but the restaurant could certainly use some work on the finishing."

"Started out with the clam chowder. Very good if a touch salty. Caesar salad was a good salad. Enjoyable, nothing stood out about it. The main course was a shrimp and scallop scampi. I was told it was very popular and after ordering I get it. Excellent dish. The sun dried tomatoes made it. The tiramisu for dessert, a special, is killer. Service was top notch. If I were local I'd eat here often."

"I enjoyed my eating from here that I ordered through eats. I ordered the cats with brokkoli and reispilaf. but my mother didn't cost the scallops. they were boiled and were bland. the lobster mac and the cheese had not much lobster. we ordered on a Friday night, so take them heed for anyone who thinks about the online order, as the quality seems to be a hit or a miss."

"What a nice culinary experience we had last night in macon. we arrived at 5:30 a.m. on a Wednesday night so that the beautiful restaurant was empty. consequently no problem to get the table next to the window with view of connecticut ave. our waiter was friendly and patient answered all our questions about the items in the menu. my friend ordered the delicious buttermilk biscuits with chili jam, the Cheddar cheese sauce, the roasted okra with special dipping sauce and the roasted green tomato. she loved everyone! She let me have one of the four cookies, and it was the best cookie I had eaten, especially accompanied by the chili marble. I ordered the caesar salad with marinated anchovy I loved. then poor, the waiter, brought me the grilled pork chop with bourbon sauce. the pork was well made as I had wished, but still delicate and juicy, and the bourbon grill sauce added exactly the right amount of kick to make the dish completely delicious. the salad and other dishes were made from generous portions and very favorable. we loved to sit in this beautiful restaurant, with its shiny dark wood floors, its subtle, soothing walls cover, modern but warm and loaded with southern charm and hospitable and a French bistro ambiente. my friend ordered the French pressekaffee and explained: “That’s really good!” a little surprised. we shared the chocolate flourless skyberry cake disc, the poor of the waiter recommended. we have left a very generous tipp to reward poorand's excellent service. we were so happy to have discovered macon, a great foundation in the chevy chase, top / connecticut area of northwest D.C"

"I wish I could leave a review on food but the rude hostess made me not even want to stay. After being told I had 5 minutes to order please note we walked in at 9:23pm and they close at 10pm . I sat at the bar to place order .... After waiting 5 minutes and not greeted by bar staff we checked back with host just to be shewed away with an eye roll the same host that rushed us to order. That was enough I needed to leave and take my business elsewhere."
