"This was our second visit in 3 years, having had to book both times as we had to be very politely turned away the first time when we hadn't booked. The first time we were a party of 7 and ate in the front room, but last week there were only two of us and we were shown to a table in the rear dining room, which had slightly less atmosphere although it was full by the time we left. On the first visit we were treated to an appearance by a belly dancer, much to the delight of the men in our party (the French males all seemd to stare fixedly at their plates!) but this time she didn't appear, to my husband's disappointment. However it was the night of La fete de la Musique and the noise in the streets was drifting into the restaurants, so perhaps it was understandable. The welcome and service were polite, not quite as friendly as last time, but the food was every bit as good and we would certainly go again if we were in the town. We had lamb tagines, which contained huge quantities of lamb, almost certainly lamb shanks, so the comment by a previous reviewer about the poor amounts of meat certainly didn't apply in our case - we didn't have room for dessert!"
