"I kept my wedding here. The place is beautiful and includes many accommodation. The food was delicious. The staff is also friendly. Unfortunately, my wedding didn't go as well as I expected because I got an email 2 days before my big event in which I was told that the wedding coordinator couldn't make it my wedding because she got Covid. These things happen naturally. I was really worried about my big day after this news, but she assured me I was in good hands. Unfortunately, that was not quite the case. The day before my wedding, when my family and I arrived, there was a lot of confusion about which rooms my family would stay, even though they were reserved a bit before the wedding. On the day of the wedding, the employees who now coordinate my wedding were very disorganized and not aware that all that was that on the day unfortunately due to lack of communication with the wedding coordinator and because leadership was lacking. My middle pieces never made it to the guest tables, the entrance tables or the wedding couple tables. Two dozen rose petals were bought to be blown over the tables that have not happened and they have never left the fridge. The flowers were one of the most important and expensive aspects of my wedding for me and I stressed this to the coordinator so that I am upset about it is understandable. A refund for all flowers has not been offered, they simply delivered them to my honeymoon area the next day with an apology. I do not leave this informative review to place any negativity on Friends Lake Inn. There were many beautiful weddings here, but unfortunately, mine didn't go as planned. Unfortunately, the young lady who was placed responsible for coordinating the wedding on the wedding day was nowhere to find until about half an hour before the event, so my husband had to run around like a chicken with his head lacking trying to tell people where to go and what to do until the bride was ready. That wasn't my husband's responsibility. I informed Friends Lake Inn about why I was upset about my wedding, and I talked to the owner and he offered me a free night to stay at Friends Lake Inn and asked me to make me happy? It was a very nice offer and I took it because it was again a nice place to stay and very accommodating. Unfortunately, it does not remove the past. I sincerely hope that this will not happen to any other couple, which is another reason why I decided to publish this review. The owner asked me to leave a good review after he offered me a free night stay at the Inn and I believe that a true review is exactly that. Remember, we're still in the middle of a pandemic. If you plan a wedding, you are always very careful at the venue(s) you choose, especially during the pandemic."

"Uncle Charlie should be classified as one of the best Kept Secrets from Chestertown. I say that, because if you're just passing by, you'll try out any other place in the city before you're happy enough to walk into this well-covered but surprisingly modern dining oasis. Once we discovered it, we were here again and again, enthusiastic every time with personal service that rival Blue Heron, a menu and specials, the rival Brooks, and enthusiastic homemade ice cream that reminds me of Jeni's Ice Cream back in Columbus."

"An amazing meal! Wait staff was extremely nice, and food surpassed all expectations! I highly recommend for dinner and think it has some of the best food in Chestertown. Even if you are on the northway driving by, I would recommend pulling off and dining here."

"If you want to drink a coffee or a fresh bagel, this is the place. It is definitely the small town coffee shop, the atmosphere is great and I would recommend it to everyone to want a large cup of coffee."

"Very good bakery. Sunballs, Buzz Bar and Baguettes and Croissant s are great. How to make these sun bungalows taste so good at 0 calories; must be solar powered. Was a little suspicious about the buzz bar until my wife explained that it had honey in him. I only have one corner, but it was great. Often there is a line, but it is worth waiting. Get it early for best selection of pastries"
