"Really lovely local pub. We cycled 35 miles for a pint and stayed for Sunday lunch. The owners were wandering around greeting the regulars and made us feel like we were regulars too. The food was fantastic and very reasonably priced. Decent selection of beer on hand pump and a lovely outdoor space to sit and enjoy it. Highly recommended"

"The portion sizes are quite bad and do not reflect the prices. The containers are not full and the meat dishes have more sauce than meat. When the owners were spoken to about this they initially refused to increase the portion and did not think there was a problem with the portion. Instead they offered a credit note! The customer service has been generally poor the last couple of times we have ordered. We do not feel valued as customers, we understand that businesses need to cut back, however the price still has to reflect the product."

"We went on Thursday evening as a group of 4. We sat quickly by a waiter and was immediately asked if we want drinks and appetizers. We ordered drinks and asked for a few minutes to watch the menu. When the drinks came back, another waitress asked us again whether we want appetizers, then she tried to explain in very broken English a special starter that they do and without really understanding what we agreed to him. It came and the food was okay, but on the plus it was very hot. There was a lot to choose on the menu and a good selection of vegetarian dishes that was beautiful. We then ordered our main thing and the waiter was not sure that the dishes held so to consult the menu. The food came fast and it was hot, but pretty bland. The fried chicken one of our party was ordered was swimming in oil and was not very appetite. The waiter came back and checked us at least 4 times what we thought was unnecessary. The main thing we were worried about was the fact that she was only 1 other table of two in the whole restaurant! Overall, it was a good experience, but I would probably not recommend it to a friend. At £11.95 it was a good value for money because you have a lot to choose and it is all you can eat, but the dishes are very bland. Also the waiters/witresses were friendly, but the broken English was slightly awkward, so I might recommend even more training. I understand it's better if they were up in the evening and entertaining, but it was as empty as we were there was no atmosphere at all. Overall, it was a ok experience, but I don't think I'd come back."

"Went for lunch and enjoyed a lovely meal. Good value, generous portions and great service. We had fish and chips and burger and chips both with a difference and exceptional. And it was so nice to get triple cooked proper chips! We shared...starters and pudding and went home happy having booked our next visit. ps. The chocolates by Louis Beckett which came with the coffee are fabulous!"
