"Our dear old Chequit has been redone and, as was aptly described from a review below: Our favorite Shelter Island restaurant has become a Hamptons wanna be After attending a difficult funeral, we just wanted a drink and a burger around 3pm. (Flying goat was packed out). We should have picked up on: Hint 1: Totally empty. Hint 2: One young college kid behind the bar, and 3 (very young) staffers hanging out at a table laughing and talking. Hint 3: Several misprints on the menu. Ex: Two draft beers listed. There are none. The list of available beer and wine has nothing to do with what is actually available! Our server was lovely to us, although we got the sense she reversed that in regard to sharing about our table with bartender/fellow servers. My shot came in a half full shot glass, (an Irish girl coming back from a funeral? Please just give me a burger and a hefty shot and I'm happy to throw you a $20 tip just for the booze $10 charge for a half full shot glass. Wow. We are not picky when it comes to food. Honestly. My husband agreed the burger had ZERO seasoning. How in the world do you accomplish a burger with that little flavor? In summary, we found the place pretentious, staffed by teenagers/young college kids, and the food was unappetizing. In closing: *There is a reason the place is empty when most other places are full *"
