"We have just been for lunch at the exellent Normandy Arms. I had the lambs liver which was fresh and superbly cooked. The owner chef told me it was from a lamb which came from a field across the road. My better half had the rib eye steak which was of the same high standard. For pud we had a chocolate mousse with home made ice cream, all washed down with well kept Otter Ale. One of those meals you will always remember. This place really deserves to succeed, the chef is top notch and spoke to us with passion about cooking all his food fresh and sourcing his ingredients as locally as locally as possible."

"We were really lucky to find the Oyster Shack during a recent weekend away to Bigbury on sea. The food, atmosphere and staff were top class! It was that good we returned for a second night in a row. The staff were fantastic with our 3 year old twin girls, who thoroughly enjoyed the experience of watching mummy and daddy eat fresh lobster and crab . If you are visiting the area, definitely book a table and don't miss out!"

"Lovely meal today for lunch in the Glass House, this is a beautiful place to sit and people watch and gaze at the estuary. The 3 pot fish starter was delicious, particularly the mackerel, the tempura prawn plentiful and the pate was lovely I'd say the starters were better than the main course, which was a very nice fish and chips but the starters were a cut above Delicious crispy batter and moist fish, we really liked the mushy peas and tarter sauce Too full for dessert! We really enjoyed the vibe and the staff are attentive and friendly"

"We'd booked a table for my birthday lunch but we arrived a few minutes early as the walk from the ferry had taken us less time than anticipated. The welcome we received was luke warm to say the least, we were made to feel like we were a nuisance. We then waited approx 15 minutes (10 minutes after our booked time) in the foyer area and during that time none of the staff suggested we could order a drink. When we got to our table the view was amazing as always and the waitress was very friendly. The food was very good but the draught cider was not available (this happened on our previous visit too) so we were served room temperature cider from bottles."

"We ate dinner again at the mussel in tonight, it is so excellent. Great welcome, great draft jail ale, food is amongst the best we have had. Staff very welcoming and friendly, can’t recommend it enough. We had monk fish Thai tai curry, mussel burger,1 kg mussels and fish and chips, loved it all for my wife’s birthday, well done all, would not hesitate to come back next time , lovely evening."

"I took my mum here today for her birthday, she loves a pie and is quite the pie connoisseur, so i am always on the hunt to find her the best place..well i think we found it! Proper shortcrust pastry, delicious filling, great options of sides and gravies and the perfect portion size. Also so impressed with the service, we had a blonde lady and she was efficient, friendly and super helpful. We can't wait to come back to our new favourite place. Thank you"

"Visits here with my wife and. wow! real authentic Japanese cuisine so hard to find outside of london, but a hidden gem here in devon. can not recommend very enough. we had the set menu (similar teriyaki and fish,) gyoza on the side, the matcha sundae and milcheis with sesame and roasted rice sakura black tee is also recommended. great!"
