"It was difficult to order on the McDonald's app as the system thought we were at a different location to the one we were ordering at; perseverance eventually got it working. Food was slow to arrive; burgers were okay, but chips were soggy and barely warm. Ice cream was delicious and great value. Car park only allows for 60 minutes (we didn't notice on arrival); due to the initial delays and then us ordering additional food and drinks (oblivious of the limit) and having to wait for those, we were there for 100 minutes. Parking charge notice received in the post. I won't be eating at this McDonald's again, and am seriously considering never going to one by car again. Having five teenage kids, we've been plenty of times over the past 20 years, have typically spent £50-£80 per visit, and would've continued to do so until now. Maybe McDonald's should consider this sort of loss over whatever they think they are achieving with these parking restrictions. UPDATE: After a few emails back and forth with McDonald's customer services, they have arranged for my parking charge to be cancelled. It's a shame this happened and that I had to complain, but at least it has been resolved satisfactorily. I'll be more vigilant for the parking signs in the future... and I recommend speaking with the manager of the restaurant if you are a legitimate customer and are likely to overstay the limit."

"We have visited the Chequers several times since my report a year ago and it has been consistently very good, with well prepared and presented food and service that would not be out of place in a far more expensive restaurant. We were, therefore, dismayed...to learn that the business was on the market to be sold. This restaurant is probably not for everyone. If you are looking for vast quantities of standard pub grub look elsewhere. If you are looking for excellent food, slick and professional service in a very pleasant atmosphere, the Chequers is for you. Any buyer would be well advised to continue to offer what is a rare experience in this somewhat remote part of the country and to persuade the key staff to stay on!"

"Small village pub with restaurant in sort of conservatory. Table booked for 1pm but had to wait for table to become available due to a large group in previously. Had drinks at bar until taken to table at 1.40pm. Went straight to the Carvery where there was a choice of 3 meats and I had Gammon that was cooked to perfection and worth waiting for. Assortment of vegetables including large Yorkshire’s and Chipolatas. Had Rhubarb and apple lattice pie for afters with ice cream. Must say food was 5 star and freshly cooked, service and friendliness of staff excellent. Value for money will definitely return again, but book a table for 12noon."

"This has to be one of the best if not THE best Italian restaurant in Lincolnshire. Situated in the Crescent SPALDING ..with car parking right next door.. The staff are so friendly and the food stunning! Our most recent meal was amazing …delicous! We love it…can’t wait to return"
