"Bert’s jazz bar is located at the gorgeous Merchant Hotel in the centre of Belfast. The hotel recommended Bert’s. It did not disappoint, we only went here for drinks.We were given a table right near the front and service was as good. So we’re the cocktails. Friendly staff. From what I could see of the food being served it looked nice. The ambience was chilled. Bert’s has live jazz through the week and it was a Sunday night visit which was busy and had fabulous music so we went again Monday and Tuesday, Great jazz singers! It was an intimate, cosy and casually sophisticated setting.Perfect for us to relax after our celebratory 25th anniversary meal.Highly recommend!"

"Hearing so many good reviews about his resturant I was very disapointed. I had booked this resturant for a special birthday party.Sadly we where both highly dispointed with the desert,(ticky toffee pudding) which tasted like fish.We both complained about the desert to the waiter, there had been other complaints about this desert so dont understand why we were served it .We were offered another desert but we told the waiter we both felt sick with the taste of fish so we refused the other desert .This is not the standard of food that I would expect from a reputable, fine dining establishment.
