"Great for seafood. Steaks look good, but was meat was too tough. So stick to the seafood. Mussels and the black sole off the bone was very fresh and tasty. A good place for a brisk but warm tasty meal."

"I am a Failte Ireland qualified tourist guide. Temporarily out of work I went on a family vacation in County Kerry and have used the opportunity to renew my acquaintanceship, this time in my private capacity. The Red Fox is simply a friendly place for...a stop. They are famous for their Irish Coffee but the main attraction is that the place is quaint and friendly. It is impossible to please every person in a group of perhaps 40 or 50 tourists, but at leadt 80% like it and perhaps 15 are neutral. The owner's son writes childrend's books and more recently books about the Irish famine. Very well researched, I bought one a few years ago and I have used some quotations in essays for my Bachelor's degree. The adjoining Bog Village is a small open air museum that faitfully recreates the way of life in Ireland in the 19th century. Highly recommended for those who are interested in this aspect of Ireland, its history and culture, I have not been at the Red Fox for two years as I had a health issue last year. Although I must have been one of hundreds of coach crews that passed through before the covid-19 virus struck, we were immediately made welcome as old friends. We had coffee and a few sandwiches. We 5 adults and two small children enjoyed the visit."

"We celebrated the 50th here. My wife's birthday and the staff made it a special evening by surpriseing my wife with a birthday dessert plate candle and singing Happy Birthday. It was a very thoughtful gesture. Thank you to both ladies in the participation that Fri evening, who were wonderful. Nice attitude, attentive, friendly. Also local Killarney ladies. The food itself was great. My wife loved the monk and my hake great. We loved the big Calamari stars, one of the best we tasted. What we loved is also the truly intimately stylish decor. Very big restaurant. The long seating area, lighting, background music and space create a beautiful atmosphere to highlight special occasions. Definitely recommend a place whenever in Killarney."
