"The Saltwater Grill has been a Galveston staple for some time. I was encouraged that the menu has been updated with new items, while preserving some of their best offerings - I swear the Shanghai Delight is laced with Prozac because I'm always happy when I eat it. This time I tried one of their new "naked" offerings, hoping the fish would be allowed to shine. I had the grilled redfish, which was done perfectly - the very thin edges were a little crisp and carmelized but the fish was still moist and flavorful. I did miss the bread - this was one of the few restaurants in town that started with something with substance, so I was quite disappointed when a little crock of crackers appeared instead of bread. The restaurant is very noisy - I was ok hearing my companions but certainly couldn't hear the server well."

"It was our anniversary, reservation was days in advance, asked for a table near a window. Did not get the window seat but the clams we ordered had the bonus ingredient of sand Service was excellent however"

"This place is awesome! My brother lives right next door and is a regular for breakfast. All he and his roommate kept saying was Sophie is the best, gosh we love Sophie, she 's the reason we keep coming back . I don 't know Sophie, but I can tell you that the food was stellar! The service is great, and the breakfast was incredible! The view of the lake is exactly what I needed while I was sipping coffee and eating my breakfast. They have a sweet deal for breakfast for 10 bucks, you 'd have to be crazy not to take advantage of that! I heard a rumor this place was closing soon, so get in there while you still can and ask for Sophie!"

"Ambiance View of the water would be nice if the trees weren't blocking the view. I'm sure it's nice with all the bistro lights overhead. The service was fine. Nothing out of the ordinary nothing horrible. The biggest issue I had was that the server wasn't super knowledgeable about what was and was not in stock. The Sheppard's pie had a comforting meal but was nothing out of the ordinary .but it did have a nice warm home cooked meal vibe. The gravy over the potatoes gave a nice sauciness to the potatoes and the meat was nice and we'll seasoned. Overall nothing to write home about but a very good meal. It tasted like a good Irish meal my grandmother would make on a cold winters night."

"We ate at 5:30 on a cold Saturday night in February so it was not too busy but it definitely picks up fast so better make a reservation. Great spot in a bustling area and food and ambiance make it a gem! Parking is the big hassle so allow plenty of time for that if you have a reservation. We got dropped off to claim our table and get some drinks started for our poor designated driver who had to hunt down parking."
