"A pleasant Italian restaurant tucked away in Drogheda. Service is generally welcoming and helpful and wait times are usually non-existent, though it's always best to call and book in advance. Prices are reasonable and the vibe is really nice especially later in the evening. While not immediately obvious to passer-by's given the entrance is squeezed between two other stores, it's a great place to go for a relaxed night out."

"Where to begin. Well, let me first say that there isn 't a shred of authenticity to this place having an Italian coffee machine does not an Italian restaurant make! None of the staff were Italian and struggled with tasks such as taking orders and...processing payment something which I will elaborate on! , the food should be labelled 'Italian Style ', much in the same way as Dr Oetkers ' pizzas, and the pastries which we had on a previous occasion, though tasty, aren 't made in house a shame.  My girlfriend and I were seated in the 'restaurant ' inverted commas used to highlight the fact that this establishment would operate better as a simple cafe around 7pm, one other table of diners in the place, so a quiet night. We were given a bank holiday special menu, which was rather bleak and certainly didn 't convey value. The small selection on offer was deeply uninspiring, so having ascertained that the regular menu was off, we both opted for one of the specials on the board Italian sausage wrapped in pancetta €15.95 . The last 2 options were somewhat confusingly laid out on the board. Rather than having 2 distinct lines for each, they were lumped together as 'Chicken wrapped in pancetta OR Italian sausage wrapped in pancetta '. When it came to ordering off our waitress this proved to be something of an issue. Despite the fact that my girlfriend repeatedly had to reiterate that it was the sausage and not the chicken we wanted, this never seemed to quite register with the poor waitress whose English was severely compromised why would management throw someone in the deep end like that? . Cue a fairly hilarious exchange whereby the poor waitress kept looking blankly at the board while my girlfriend kept patiently gesticulating towards our option! Not good when the waitress isn 't familiar with the dishes available, especially as they were very limited in number to begin with. Anyway, eventually our order was taken and we basked in the ambience provided by the reggae covers of mainstream pop songs again, not very Italian restaurant! . The starters, suppli and bruscetta, took an age to arrive. After about 20 minutes the waitress brought us some pistachios and crisps, a decent gesture but why not bring out at the beginning? All the while I was tormented by a fly, which was a little odd for a freezing cold evening in October. Starters arrived and were fine, inoffensive. And so began another big wait for the mains. As we both suspected, our order was taken arseways and we both received the chicken option. However, had it been as described, things wouldn 't have been so bad. The chicken was as dry as Ghandi 's flip flops and wrapped in cheap catering pack bacon, not pancetta disgraceful. There wasn 't even any sauce to mask the hideous dryness. We couldn 't help but laugh as we were chewing on this travesty when one of the waiters subtlety removed the word 'pancetta ' from the menu, replacing it with nothing...Disgraceful to try and fob us off with that rubbish when it wasn 't exactly cheap, why not just tell us? Needless to say, neither of us finished it. Why didn 't we complain about all of the above? Ordinarily we would, but we felt we 'd be completely wasting our time due to the language barrier. Also we were starving and having waited and age for the main course, we didn 't want to mention they 'd got our order wrong and have to wait another lifetime. They haven 't got a card reader yet, so I had to walk into town to get cash. Paying for this experience was another minor struggle, as the waitress didn 't seem to know what was what. I felt thoroughly shafted at forty odd euro, but would 've felt the same even at €3. The future ain 't looking too bright for this Italian 's nightmare of a restaurant. We won 't be back as what few redeeming features there are are no compensation for poor food and poor service in an average environment."
