"A jewel in Melbourne's Northern Suburbs, large craft gelato, biscotti, cannoli and cakes. Staff and owners are super friendly and always helpful and ready. Prices are somewhat more expensive, but they use high quality ingredients and you pay for excellent quality. I would recommend Gioco Gelato to everyone."

"Real home-style 'cucina italiana', just like mamma or nonna makes - and amazing value for money to boot. Succulent, tender polpette with sugo and mozzarella, crisp cotoletta milanese with nicely-cooked vegetables. Good, simple desserts like tiramisu and cream caramel. The owner even graciously sliced my homemade salame, which we started off with as an antipasto (BYO taken to its extreme). Even the homely touches of 5 mismatched wine glasses for our vintage reds and a waitress who had no clue what the fish of the day was or how it was prepared were appreciated. My only criticism is that too many of the dishes had cream added to them (cream on crumbed calamari? No!). Maybe the locals like it like this, but I would strip some of the dishes back and focus on the authenticity. But overall, we five Italians all liked it very much and will return."

"We attended on a Thursday night for a business dinner. We had good service and good food. On the night we attended they where out of lamb and after one glass of Riesling they were out. They also started packing up at about 8:30. A couple in our group had steak which was cooked well to order. I had spaghetti spiga which was nice."

"Extreme lack of sauce on two pizzas and garlic bread was burnt and failed to make my third pizza because it had no charge on it, which was actually a special from DoorDash. Very disappointing upon calling the store, clearly stated they did not make it because it had no charge on it. Never again ."

"Sam’s is our semi-regular Friday tradition for Takeaway Pizza. We are American-Australia and love pizza and have always fought to find high quality pizza in Australia. Our preference is for New York or Italian style with high quality fresh vegetables, thin crust, fresh cheese and a non-sweet tomato sauce. We have tried many pizzerias in Brisbane and Melb and some in Sydney Perth, and Sams in Reservoir sits in our Top 3 in Australia. It is not wood-fired, but consistently very good, a great value, and with excellent service!"
