Today we would like to introduce Marco 102 (most station: Sakuragicho. Two of our excellent outreachers discovered this restaurant during a walk through Nogecho. It is an Italian restaurant specialising in “Sojatalian” – traditional Italian dishes with tofu and cheese from soybeans instead of cows. The chef explained to us that they always have a few vegan items on the menu, but it could be best for us to reserve what is known in Japan as the "course menu" so that they are sure enough vegan cheese on the ready. We reserved a four-course menu with All-you-can-drink for 3500 yen. I was disappointed with the drink card – it didn't have many options. But the food was delicious and the service was excellent. The cook carefully explained to us every dish and told us what is in it. Japan is not exactly known for its vegan cheese, but the cheese in these dishes was simply phenomenal. The Tiramisu was also amazing. The portions were small when looking at the price, but I guess that foods do not get cheap this high quality. If you are looking for cheerful Italian food, this is the place to go."
