"It was our last night in Pondi and very hesitantly went to Satsang for a dinner and it proved to be not so good experience. Keeping a fancy name and lot of french names in the menu does not make a restaurant excellent one. Other than the ambiance nothing was there to boast upon. Not recommended as there are much more better cafes and restaurants around. Location: It is in the Labourdonnais Street in White Town area of the city and quite close to the beach. Refer google maps for more accurate location. Parking: There is road side parking available for those coming by their own two or four wheelers. "Don Giovanni was the first restaurant I visited after moving to Pondicherry almost a year ago. While this review comes a bit late, both my first visit and a recent one mirrored each other, compelling me to write this.<br>
What I like about the place is it's rooftop seating. It gives you a lovely view of the town, sometimes interrupted by ugly buildings.<br>
Once you clamber into that no-good elevator upstairs, you enter the simple dining area, and you are immediately greeted by the French proprietor, a jolly guy. The waiters there are mainly North Indian fellows, who didn't quite understand what we needed until we switched to Hindi, the first time I visited.<br>
We were a group of 8, with limited time at hand. So we ordered immediately in hopes of faster service. But that was not the case. The food took a long long time to come. The food overall was decent. I'm a vegetarian, with not many options. I chose the gnocchi only to be disappointed. But the other dishes were quite nice, especially the pasta with the bacon.<br>
My biggest complaint was the tiramisu. It was the worst piece of cake I had ever had in any place. The place is definitely pricy, but overall, if the dishes are carefully chosen, it's a decent, happy meal."

"Nice cafe with very tasty wood fired pizzas. Tried Margherita and Paneer pizzas and both were awesome. Also tried Vanilla Frappe but did not like it. Must try pizza here if you are in Pondicherry."
