"Wir waren gestern Abend in der Alten Schmieden mit ein paar Freunden auf ein Bier und eine Kleinigkeit zum Essen. Das positive Vorweg: der klassische Barbereich ist urig und gemütlich. Die Bedingungen sind sehr nett und aufmerksam. Wie es sich für eine anständige Kölner Kneipe gehört, kommt das nächste Kölsch ungefragt, sobald das Alte zuneige geht. Perfekt!Der Biergarten ist im Sommer super schön. Leider kann die Küche hier nicht mithalten. Das Angebot liest sich zwar ganz gut, die Umsetzung ist aber lieblos. Ich hatte Kassler von einer zweifelhaften Fleischqualität, das Kartoffelpüree war aus Pulver angerührt und das was eine Soße sein sollte war eine aus Wasser und Demi Glace angerührte Suppe. Das stößt mir heute noch auf. Bäh!Fazit: lieber zuhause satt essen und dann mit netten Leuten auf ein leckeres, frisch gezapftes Kölsch (aus dem Pittermännchen!!!) in der Schmiede treffen."

"We were there with a party of about 12 people eating. each ordered a dish in the price range of approx. 2 persons ordered a small spa gel plate (just like the dish on the menu). The service also pointed out that this court was cold. at the end, for 12.50€ 2necks were delivered with salmon wrapped on three sheets of salad. The undamaged operation made us aware that this should have been known, after all it is an appetizer. This was NOT explained as such and was not served under the heading! kellner asked these people now: They are certainly not satisfied yet, I can serve something else. Also all other COURT WAREN IN NO WEISE TABLE RESULTS, which was not the size of the plate. In short, we left approx. 250€ and went straight to another place for coffee and cake to become at least rich. Only unfortunately the waiters of the SMALL STAPELHINE NOT. These had a trinity that toppt the undamaged prices!"
