"An extremely relaxed atmosphere at Merchant Lane, dimmed lighting just to my liking! A fantastic selections of wines and extremely affordable food, (delicious too may I add) A great venue to meet up with friends for a few drinks! I absolutely LOVED the Bolognese Parma on Wednesdays too! <br/>Can't rave on how awesome this hidden gem is, worth the visit!"

"The hot smoked salmon was wonderful though slightly on the dry side but everything else was standard. I especially love the way the hash was made, definitely one to remember for a long time. The place has a very relaxed vibe and i would recommend for people wanting to explore Sandringham."

"We have been coming here for steak since it opened 11 years ago.. we have never been disappointed with the food.. steak always cooked just the way we like it, the ribs are super juicy and tasty and the sauces are amazing! The staff are very friendly and helpful."

"Pallet Espresso café not only is a hidden gem but also one that has been around for a number of years. It is as other reviewers have stated the sister café to Purple Peanuts. Their menu is slightly different where it is more Japanese-Italian fusion based but also maintains its quality Japanese unique flavours.<br/ <br/ I often visit Pallet Espresso when I am unable to wait in queue for Purple Peanuts.<br/ <br/ LOCATION<br/ <br/ Pallet Espresso is situated in a very small lane way, just behind Purple Peanuts off Collins Street, near to the corner of Spencer Street.<br/ <br/ The café is a simple set up but embodies similar design as Purple Peanuts.<br/ <br/ SERVICE<br/ <br/ The staffs at Pallet Espresso are always warm and welcoming. <br/ <br/ It is a very laid back vibe and small open kitchen.<br/ Towards the back counter, customers can help yourself to lemon flavour water.<br/ <br/ MENU/PRICE <br/ <br/ Their menu has a variety of interesting options including sweet and savoury muffins, tarts, okonominya Japanese pancake, light ciabatta rolls – chicken katsu, Rueben, burgers etc.<br/ Their cooked menu list is minimal with only 9 items but it's enough to keep it simple since their kitchen is small however it works as all their options are very tasty. The chicken is nicely crumbed and fried lightly so that the chicken is still tender. I really enjoy the potato salad (which is the same as Purple Peanuts) and their pickled vegetables. It overall complements the chicken! Yum! <br/ <br/ Katsu Curry – is my go to dish when I want something that is filling. When you first order this you think the serving is average BUT it is definitely a very good size portion I am always left content. The purple rice is just the right quantity to balance the delicious fried chicken and the curry which is tomato based is very flavoursome. I also love their miso flavoured eggplant."

"Boyfriend and I were delighted to learn that Black Toro Windsor are participating in this year’s ‘TheFork Festival’! We came here for lunch with a reservation through ‘The Fork’ and received 50% off our entire bill. We had high hopes having dined at the Glen Waverley establishment and were not disappointed! Our top 3 dishes in no particular order were the kingfish tostadas, fish tacos and peanut butter cheesecake. The kingfish tostadas are an absolute must order as they pack a punch In terms of flavour. Definitely see why they are a crowd and staff favourite. The fish tacos were also delicious and probably the best we’ve had the batter was light and the fish incredibly soft and delicate. The PB cheesecake was sooo rich and decadent. An absolute treat of a dessert!!! Left with happy tummies and spent the rest of the afternoon op shopping along Chapel Street which was so much fun. All in all we really enjoyed Black Toro Windsor and would happily dine again!"

"We were invited to Stanley today and just over a year from our initial visit the menu is unchanged. This provided the opportunity to try some of the other dishes. I went for the smashed avocado and also the açai bowl. I didn’t really read the menu properly as this was a smashed avocado and edamame. I’m not a huge fan of edamame but this didn’t change the flavour of the dish (only the texture) I suppose its a good way to get in more nutrients! I also added roast tomato as a side which added even more flavour. <br/ <br/ The açai bowl was made with mango juice and as such was sweeter than what I’m used to with this dish but the peanut butter balanced this prettily presented dish and I’m a sucker for anything that comes in a coconut bowl. My dining companion thoroughly enjoyed his beef brisket benny, so much so that I’ll have to try it next time. <br/ <br/ Original review <br/ We chose Stanley today for breakfast to catch up with some friends who live nearby. I was shocked to have been robbed twice, once by the ‘weekend surcharge’ is that really a thing? I’ve only ever come across this once before and was as astounded by it then as I am now. Pretty sure given the plethora of cafes this restaurant group own they are well able to cover whatever additional wages weekend trading is costing them just like every other venue does.<br/ <br/ The second incident was when I paid the 10% inflated bill and gave $122 for the $111 meal. I was given $1 back and instantaneously said ‘the change was $11’ to which the staff member replied I gave you $11. I offered her to inspect the contents of my bag and wallet to prove she had in fact only given me $1. Not really impressed<br/ <br/ On to the food. I had a chai latte to start which was ok. I prefer it on the sweeter side which is why I favour the ones that come with the honey on the side not already in the glass. For my meal I choose the Nutella waffles. Texturally I found the waffle a bit hard and the dish overly sweet but it certainly was pretty on the plate. <br/ <br/ The vanilla mascarpone did help to balance it somewhat but the brûlée banana was just compounding the sweetness. If there was a raspberry purée on the plate rather than a decorative smear this may have provided a bit of tartness to aid in a more balanced dish. Overall I found the experience disappointing"
