"Another great experience. On a three day business trip, I visited Smoque twice and both times were as good as always. I highly recommend this place, great food and service."

"My favourite purveyor of jalapeño poppers. Delicious--DELICIOUS!--brisket. The cornbread is fantastic too! (Plus, if you're lucky, they might have Cheerwine in stock!)The owners are lovely people who are dedicated to their customers and their business... It's a genuine pleasure to visit The Little Red Shack BBQ, and not just because of the amazing food."

"This restaurant is just recently opened. With any new venture there are bound to be some bumps in the road. My room mate had dined here on a couple of occasions the past couple of weeks. He told me that there were some growing pains as could be expected, but I did notice that each visit seemed to be better and better.Tonight he offered to treat me to supper and off we went. The restaurant offers a good number of tables as well as seating at their L shaped bar at the back end of the place. The kitchen is placed to one side and is an open concept which allows the diners to see more of what goes on out front in preparing a meal.We were greeted straight away and allowed to find a table that suited our needs. The waitress was very attentive and our orders were taken in no time at all. As I said, all new places have growing pains and service was one of the early pains here I am told. Tonight I can say that they've cured that one as the service was excellent.Today's pain was that not all meals were available as I found out with my first choice, they have suffered from some delivery issues and I am sure that this will be less and less of an issue as well down the road.I decided on the Fried Chicken with fries. My room mate ordered the Farmers Clubhouse Sandwich with fries as well as Jalapeno Pepper Poppers to start. The Peppers came fairly swiftly with an accompanying dip. The flavour and texture was just the right amount of cheese, spice and crunchiness as well as a generous portion great for sharing. My Chicken was a two piece and was much to my surprise all boneless breast meat with a very large piece and a smaller bit. The meat was tender, juicy, marinated and delicious. One of the management team, Billy Bob, hails from Tennessee and it was interesting to see his take on how Southern Fried Chicken should be. I wasn't disappointed, he is training to ladies on the cooking side of things and it was their handiwork tonight. Well done ladies. My room mate was very pleased with his sandwich which was also very generous in portion. He seemed happy. The menu is not too extensive which allows them to concentrate on doing what they have on offer, right. I was a little apprehensive before coming with the teething problems they've experienced. Thankfully my fears were totally unfounded and it was a meal that I'm pleased to be able to write nice things about. I will be back again to try something else and can recommend Foster's to anyone in confidence."

"One of the best meals I had while in Ottawa. If you are seeking a talented chef among Canada's capital, come here. Walking in, it definitely feels like someone's home hosting a fancy banquet. The tequila infused salmon doesn't sound appealing, but it will be once you see it. Excellent plating, to the point where it almost feels like wimmelholden up close. The tequila offers a unique flavor to the fresh, and clearly vocal salmon flavor. All the little details stand out and uphold the dish, from the earthy radish, the jalapeño powder, down to the crunchy quinoa. The cream is the first chair solo violinist that truly makes everything pop. The only complaint I have is you have to consciously pick out all the ingredients on the fork for the full experience. It's quite easy to eat the piece lop sided, whether too much or too little or anything. The chicken éclair might as well be called the chicken éclair sandwich. I was envisioning a stuffed éclair, but it's much better as an open face sandwich with the top piece separate. The chicken was moist, still had some texture to chew on, and had a bold, sweet, low toned profile. The bread and butter pickles help cut through with some refreshing high notes. The dots of cream on the side didn't seem enough, but I still managed without a lot of cream. The éclair itself takes on a new perspective as A savory dish. It's something I'm surprised more chefs have adopted. Maybe it's the chili powder, but I couldn't help that bling this was an elevated sloppy joe. I still enjoyed this dish, but there's a tinge of nostalgia that lingers with every bite for me. The lamb shank is satisfying alone, but the addition of lime aioli and apple chutney make this a standout dish. The best way I can describe this dish is by thinking about the lamb, encapsulated by the chutney, and then encapsulated by the lime aioli. Perhaps the fat of the lamb conjures spherical worlds of flavor, orbiting around the gravitation of my tongue. Make sure you check the perimeter of the plate, as there are different levels of presence for the sauce. One pile is huge, while another is much smaller but not tucked under the meat. The spinach polenta block of whatever that was on the side was crap. The main spice stood out way too much. I took two bites and stopped eating it. The banoffee was a great dessert. But there are some things that I should mention. There isn't any toffee crunch in this and The whipped cream to filling ratio is 3:1. Otherwise, I was quite pleased with the results. Definitely, a European sweet dessert that's never too sweet. The banana is mixed in, but I can't help to feel it sits in the higher registry than the lower registry. The graham crust is delightfully chewy and gooey. The toffee provides most of the low tones in pudding filling form. Although the chocolate is a side counterpart in the profile, it does a surprising amount, dancing around the banana and toffee flavors. The whipped cream was good, but it could have been just a tad creamier in the taste profile. I love that they offer half orders on this pie. Even with some flaws, this place is still one of the best places to eat during my visit. Some other fancy establishments dont even come close to this place. from start to finish, there was not a single dish that was a dud."

"We had a Hawaiian and a pepperoni pizza last night! Both were absolutely delicious. Their creamy garlic sauce is some of the best garlic sauce I’ve ever had! They had a tiny bit of a snag with the delivery but were awesome at addressing the issue. 100% will be ordering again!"

"Excellent food, friendly hosts. We've been to many Indian Restaurants in Ottawa and Toronto and we always go back to Taj. For the past 5 years, Taj is the only place we will now go to."

"This place hands down makes the best home fries in the city, extremely garlicky and crispy. The take 2 is my favourite option, my toddler loves the sausages and the blueberry pancakes. They also have really good eggs Benedict too. Coffee is not bad just wished they had cappuccinos. The service is friendly and fast. The one in riverside south recently renovated and we love the booths. It’s one of my favourite place for breakfast."
