"Fantastic food and lovely attentive staff. We came here by chance as another restaurant was fully booked but what a treat it was. We walked in and were greeted straightaway. We ordered our food and drinks and were informed that what we had ordered would be far too much food for us so we reduced our order, we had ordered 3 house special chow meins but they said 2 would be enough and they were right, there was tonnes of food. I had won ton soup to start and it was beautiful, with a very delicately flavoured broth and delicious won tons, we had sui mai to share and they were the best I have had anywhere. The house special chow meins was fabulous, the meats were perfectly roasted. I have attached pictures but we had already started to devour it so probably doesn't do it justice."

"Hidden away among the many chinese restaurants of chinatown, this thai restaurant is much nicer that its entrance would suggest. Climbing a fly of stairs you access an elegant wood-panneled dining room, decorated with flowers and thai furniture. The menu is quite vast and can feel a bit disorienting, but none of the dishes me and my friends tried disappointed us. We tried green chicken curry, pad thai, moo yang (sweet marinated strips of pork) and tamarind duck, all accompained with coconut and sticky rice. Although I have had better curries and pad thais in elsewhere before, Phetpailin's are quite good, with curry well balancing its spicyness with the coconut's sweetmess. Moo yang was especially good, the meat having deeply absorbed the sweet marinade flavours. With a main with a side of rice priced at around £11, Phetapailin makes a great and competitive alternative to the chinese restaurants in the area."

"Not got a bad word to say about this place. Simplicity wins out and they do the easy things exceptionally well. Airy basement restaurant with classic Japanese influences of bench seating and tables. Minimalist look as well, with a changing display of art. All the favourites are available Nasi Goreng, Tempura vegetables and Pad Thai; although the Ramens are probably the best I've ever had. Casual dining experience. Take-away service too (good for tasty desk-bound lunch Less than each. Children's menus. Many vegetarian options, vegan too. Set menus."
