"Am ersten Abend unserer 3-tägigen Reise haben wir im Restaurant Opera sehr gut gegessen. Es gab vorab einen sehr leckeren Gruß aus der Küche mit Baguettebrot und einem sehr guten Dipp. Als Vorspeise eine Spargelsuppe, danach eine Lammkrone und meine Frau hatte ein ganz tolles Schnitzel aus der Kalbskeule. Abegrundet wurde das "perfekte Dinner" durch einen sehr gut gekühlten grünen Veltliner. Nur zu empfehlen. Schade, dass Chemnitz so weit von Neuss weg ist."

"For foreign and young people who no longer know the old heroes of the GDR, what about the history of the building: In the attic of this cute house was born in 1844 the politician and former Saxon economic minister Fritz Heckert, who played an important role in the German and international workers movement. The house was still a few hundred meters far behind on the Mühlenstr. and had the house number 9. In 1974, all buildings were demolished in this district to create space for the redesign of the Brühl. The Heckerthaus was removed in memory of its historic inhabitants and at the corner of Brückenstr. originalgetreu only by 90° Grade rebuilt, at GDR times there was a museum in it. After the turn, users changed, but now the cottage is gottseidank in good condition and in good hands: In the lower two floors, the Café HECK-ART restaurant invites you to spice and potion of high quality from predominantly regional cultivation in a stylish ambience. "Zeche: 33,60 € per person General: Can you go Greek food in Chemnitz? I asked a rhetorical question because I suspect that in every German city you will find a Greek of 10,000 inhabitants. But the selection in the Karl Marx city is limited and I had completed my research with the choice of Syrtaki. I didn't regret the visit because I was eating right. The award at one of the hot July days 2015 was very remarkable for a Tuesday. The typical audience was found, namely couples, families and small groups, as well as soloists like me. Service: Two Greek men in black dress delivered the outdoor tables occupied in front of the restaurant and the few interiors. They did it routinely and friendly. Beverages quickly came to the table and the appetizers and main food matched. The ouzo of the host in Syrtaki is sufficiently cold for both start and invoice. More cold would have done the rarely encountered Retsina Rosé well. Overall an acceptable duty that I appreciate with full satisfaction. At the beverage prices: Pils by Paulaner is charged with a considerable €2.80 for 0.3 l. Greek mineral water is 4.90 € for the bottle with 0.7 l and the few open standard wines want to be paid at 5,50 € for 0.25 l. Only the mentioned Retsina is €4.40 for the neighborhood. Food: The map is manageable, but offers the most promising classics. The mixed cold appetizers Pikilia, 8,90 €, which I have chosen, were specially advertised on the map as five balls Tsatsiki, Skordalia, Taramas, Auberginensalat and sheep cheese Tyrosalata. A basket with a bright, fresh and fine-pored bread was added. I like the eggplant salad with a correct garlic note, some tomatoes and walnut, the pretty firm sheep cheese cream and the creamy tsatsiki with cucumber, garlic and a dillhauch. The Taramas would not be industrial goods, but the conservation of the fish note and the Skordalia would have made a little more garlic and olive oil well. This Pikilia plate should settle in the upper third of my rankings. Then the grill plate Parthenon with Gyros, Souvlaki and Souzouki Frikadelle, €12.80 . I chose Pommes. The additional salad with two fractions: The herbal salad was retained and refreshed; the leaf salad half "napped" with lush cocktail sauce. To the proteins: the gyro freshly cut and well seasoned, as well as the loose frikadelle. However, both grills are slightly oversalted. The Souvlaki has a delicately seasoned and still seasoned, but with decreasing heat increasingly dry in the bite. The pommes hot and crispy. The portion size is good and also without appetizer.
