"This is not a 100% vegetarian restaurant, they do offer some options with chicken, fish and meat, but overall it's lighter fare than what you normally find in Mexican restaurants. For example, there is more choice of raw foods (salads, juices), less fried food, less...heavy starches. I enjoy the fresh juices, which are prepared to order. They seem to have two menus, one with more expensive dinners and one with sandwiches, quesadillas, salads and such. You can actually order from the second menu any time during the day or evening, so unless you really want a full dinner, ask for the lighter menu. The view of the zocalo is nice. If you're lucky you will hear some mariachis while you're having lunch or dinner. The service is good, the place is informal and casual. It makes a nice change of pace if you're tired of the standard fare in other places. There are healthier options here, and the food I've had has been tasty. I think the food is actually better at the 100% natural restaurant in the Plaza Cuernavaca mall (near Costco), but the atmosphere and setting of the downtown restaurant is better."

"All right, we went back! in the night we tried the pozole and chile en nogada. the next day we returned for a omelet and cecina con papas y guacamole. overall it was an excellent value for traditional foods. it is a lively place from good ground."

"Recommended by a local, this restaurant is a great find. Handmade tortillas are prepared at the entrance. The decor is typical Mexican colourful and cheerful. The restaurant has a 4-course menu aka prix fixe for 55 pesos. At the current exchange rate, this is less than 3.50 in US dollars. The staff is friendly. The menu has local specialties, and everything is done on the grounds (no cans). Served vegetables and two types of salsa are part of the table. If you'd better do anything I'd be surprised. This is a walk, unpretentious dining area just a black ck away from the zocalo. Great place."

"Inmiddels hebben we hier nu twee keer ontbeten en een maal het warme (late) middagmaal. Ik denk dat dat op zich al een aanbeveling is. Het ontbijtbuffet is zeer gevarieerd en een aantal gerechten is verassend origineel. Belangrijk is natuurlijk dat de smaak niet alleen goed is, maar ook Mexicaans blijft. Is de variatie van het buffet je niet genoeg, dan kun je daarnaast nog uitgebreid a la cast bestellen, dat in snel tempo vervolgend geserveerd wordt. De bediening was trouwens zeer attent en heb je geen zin om zelf langs het buffet te lopen dan maakt de 'joven' voor jou graag een mooi selectie voor je. Helaas was er bij het late middagmaal, waar we met een groter gezelschap waren, een gerecht niet helemaal zoals verwacht: te zout. Het was erg druk en de vervangende maaltijd liet wat op zich wachten, maar de eigenaresse kwam persoonlijk excuses maken."

"I like Bon's Cafe because it's an easy going atmosphere . Seems to be a hang out for a young crowd who bring their laptops and settle in for an hour or so , no pressure from anyone to hurry along . Many of the clients know each other which gives the place a cozy feeling . The Abbi soup made from chile poblano is always delicious , sometimes quite hot ! As in spicy . They make great baguettes and a large variety of coffees and teas . Lots of desserts too . Reasonably priced Bon's is another favorite of ours . Right in the middle of town , it's perfect location for walking around ."

"A few months ago, on the way to breakfast, we noticed this scenic restaurant on Rio Mayo and decided to give it a try as there are parking directly at the front door. The restaurant is actually the garden and the front buildings of the original house. On the terrace or in the covered area there is a selection of seats under large screens. And there are additional seats in the art gallery, with original art of the owner's father who lives in the original home in the back of the great property. When we sat down first, the waiter brought a basket of fresh bread, which was included in the price of the meal. This was a plus, so many restaurants charge extra for the bread when consumed. Next, another waiter brought fresh, pressed orange juice, coffee and a plate of fresh fruit for every diner. Then the first waiter brought the menu on a table. The breakfast menu had a good choice to choose; Eggs cooked in various ways, with or without meat. I choose Huevos con Chorizo y Tocina (egg with sausage and bacon) and my friend choose Huevos Veracruzano (egg with a bean sauce). The waiter took our order to the kitchen that is in front of the building and is visible to anyone who wants to see. I was surprised how clean the kitchen and the staff were. As soon as we finished our fruits and enjoyed our coffee (freshly brewed and not Nescafe Instant), we noticed the huge cactus, which was sewn past the roof of both history on the back. This is the biggest cactus I saw in Cuernavaca. I also took the time to visit the Art Gallery dining area and was quite impressed by the art that was both large and small. The father is the artist and the colors in a real way that is quite impressive. When the meals arrived and our coffee was refilled (free), we were amazed how big the portions were. The dishes were prepared exactly as we had ordered them and they were delicious. But the best part was still to come. The price per person was just $60 pesos (USD$2.90)! We made this regular breakfast place except on Sunday when Carmelita takes a break from a busy weekend. The owner Pepe Iturbide Rivera is always there and ensures everyone is happy."
