"A popular place for Porto Viejo's middle class. I ordered a soup (caldo de hueso) and pescado empanado with rice and patacones. My wife and I shared a mondongo soup. The food was/is satisfying but this place can get busy. It's big, more than 100 seats. The wait staff have their hands full most of the time so be ready to wait a little for service. If you want to be seen and see who's here in P.V. Tomate is definitely a good place to go. P.s. If you want to take a pavita (siesta) they have hammocks somewhere around the back. Check them out if you're interested. It's sort of a custom in this part of Manabi at least."
