"The one major downfall about this place was the fact that they were using severely under ripe bananas. I'm talking green on the ends. I ordered a Ninja Bowl which would've been much better if they had used RIPE bananas which would've added some sweetness. The bowl was pretty flavorless. I think ripe bananas would've made it worth the $10 lol...maybe I'm just picky with my bananas. I also got Pesto Kelp Noodles. Good but they claim it to be raw yet it has Olive oil as an ingredient (didn't notice till later). I guess oil being raw is controversial. They had a good selection overall...juices were bogo the day I went. They also had a decent selection of raw vegan desserts...tiramisu, chocolate cake, mousse. The service was good although I was the only one there. Overall, I would go here again but definitely didn't leave a good enough impression to visit any time soon or to recommend it."

"You don 't come here for the atmosphere there isn 't enough here to even call this a 'joint ' you come here for the food. Nepalese Indian and I 'm not enough of an expert to tell you the difference, but it 's all delightful and masterfully prepared. Bonus points for the extensive menu which, for this amateur gourmand, is impressive given the scope and variety of the offerings. The staff is uniformly polite and quite helpful. If I must impose a suggestion on you, dear reader, and here I will, you should, when asked, request they spice the dishes on the higher end of the scale as it will make all and sundry more flavorful without overpowering the palette."

"One of the best value Indian lunch buffet options Attentive, fair patient service, lower cost 13$ a person for weekday lunch for a decent variety of entree options before adding the fact the weekday buffet includes masala chai, 2 dessert options and basic fruits, soup and 3 types of bread including the typical buffet complimentary naan . Saag dish was brighter/lighter color green and tasted good, either using more cream or cooking the spinach for a shorter time to let the flavor shine through. Masala chai has sweet/unsweet options tastes just as good as some coffee shop’s, the creaminess sweetness helping cut/complement the strong spiced tea flavor for 1st time masala chai drinkers. Only caveats are some dishes. All of the sauces/entrees have good seasonings. Unlike any other Indian buffets,’ the gulab jamun here tasted like it wasn’t freshly made inside color was darker compared to the light yellow white color other places’ has, had less of the desired creamy/cheesy flavor, and was overly saturated with the sweet syrup which was a shame. Overall, I’d come back to this place to try the new buffet dishes other reviews suggest. If you don’t feel like sitting down for the tea service, you can still stop by pick out food from the weekday buffet to fill a small lunchbox for 15$. Great for tasting a wider variety of Indian dishes with a smaller but quality staff."

"I was really excited to try the food here, but it was kind of disappointing for a few reasons. I had the Ay Papi taco bowl) and the Notorious tuna bowl). The tuna salad was excellent. I would definitely recommend getting it. The Ay Papi taco bowl, however, was not good at all. It was really bland and hardly seasoned. I expected to be blown away by the nacho cheese, which was also tasteless. Don 't bother getting that dish. I could make a better vegan taco bowl at home. Finally, the service was disorganized and slow. The woman taking the orders was way too chatty for how long the line was. They seem to have no system of knowing who ordered what or how to get food out to customers in a timely manner. The lady was just yelling out dishes and giving them away to the first taker even if other people had been waiting longer. They didn 't have enough tuna prepped, so we had to wait while they made more. I doubt they will last if they don 't fix those issues. I 'd go back again, but if the service and flavor isn 't any better, I wouldn 't waste my time or money here. To update my review: I returned years later to the market and thought I might give them another chance, but nothing has changed. The lady behind the counter was have a conversation on her phone and making someone else’s order as slowly as possible. I stood there for 5 min and she never acknowledged me, said she’d be right with me, etc. I walked away and went to the poke place next store. Gangster Vegan, why do you not train your employees or have any level of customer service? This has been an issue for years at ever location I have been to! "The food was really good and interesting. They had many gluten-free and vegan choices I appreciated. But we waited 20 minutes until someone took our order. When we arrived, we were the 5th table. The type (which must be the owner) answered phones, seat owners, orders and drinks, while the people who were dressed as servers 3-4 of them only brought out the food and after we had told them we were ready to order, said our server would soon be over. Badly managed."
