"El Rief offers a range of meat and vegetarian Lebanese dishes at affordable prices. The schwarma, lamb and Mekahli dishes are very good. The people who work there are always friendly and welcoming. Although this is a popular restaurant there are still enough seating places...outside in the summer and also indoors when the weather is cooler. The price for food and drink are very fair at El Rief. After ordering a sandwich and a drink and handing over a bill, you will still have some change in your hand to pocket or to give as a tip for the wonderful food and service you have had. I dine quite frequently at El Rief and have come to know the owner on a more personal level. You can tell that he is very proud of his establishment (making it in gastronomy in Berlin is not always easy). He always welcomes my friends and myself with a warm smile and friendly handshake and thanks us for our custom. One thing El Rief serves, which I’ve never had in any Lebanese restaurant is rice pudding (Milchreis) which is seasoned with cardamon (I believe) and is a delicious dessert or indeed a main meal if you feel like something sweet on a summer's day."
