"Being a bit off the normal tourist routes, this little Chippie on Putney High Street doesn’t garner the mass of reviews that some of the other famous fish chip restaurants in Central London receive. I doubt the Conde Naste reviewers have even ever been to Putney! But ….they should. With a small quaint dining room this restaurant handles dine-in service with hot fish chips that are probably the best you will find in London. Take-Out orders form the bulk of their business and Fridays can be particularly busy. The website and online menu for Fisher’s is out of date having recently changed hands (but with the same Chef’s). It is currently unlicensed for beer and wine sales so expect a bottle of sparkling water rather than Dom Perignon. They have the best fish and chips in London. What more could you want?"

"We live nearby and we often go for a late dinner either eating in or taking it away. The staff is friendly and competent, always happy to advise occasional customers who are not familiar with their food. There are several vegetarian options from veggie burgers, to falafel and spring rolls, all homemade (we have tried them! . The kebabs, shawarma and meat based dishes are freshly prepared and are definitely the best around. If you eat in, the portions are generous and one can struggle to finish them, if you take the food away, the staff ensures everything is packed with care. The place is clean and there is a friendly atmosphere which makes it very enjoyable. The food is definitely good value for money and in 6 years we have never been disappointed. A must try!"

"After a long day of sight seeing, we wearily walked into the Ottoman Restaurant without reservations. The restaurant was already buzzing, but after a very short wait, we were seated at a comfortable table. Our waiter immediately greeted us, explained the menu thoroughly and made...great suggestions! Abdul was energetic and completely changed our mood. We left very full and very happy! I wish I could say that we had the same experience at every restaurant in London, but Abdul appears to be a diamond in a sea of mediocre London wait staff."

"We were staying round the corner and wanted some fish and chips. We almost didn't go in because no one else was there and the place was sparsely furnished. We both ordered the cod fish chips and loved the meal! Fish was large and crisply fried perfectly. Chips were thickly cut and plentiful. Great experience and we hope to return during our stay."

"I really wanted to love all the food I got as we had traveled from Lewisham to get there. So was very disappointed on the mediocrity of food, despite the very kind woman (manager? All the food I had was so bland: the smoked aubergine and the Fesenjan. But big portions so good value for the price, I guess? We got boxes for takeaway. My husband had a chicken and saffron rice (which I wish mine came with rather than white basmati rice with some saffron rice sprinkled atop , with red berries sprinkled atop. He also got a side order of the yogurt and garlic sauce which was quite tasty. His verdict: nothing to write home about but good enough. I ended up getting a side order of berries as well as mine was so bland (the Fesenjan sauce was practically flavourless . My husband enjoyed the tea and baklava it definitely doesn’t taste like the standard baklava which I enjoy more, as there’s more of a rosewater flavour. Like I said, the server was so motherly I hate leaving a mediocre review. I’ve just had much tastier Persian food elsewhere."

"We came here on a Sunday night to grab dinner after having heard great things. We made the half hour drive and the place was very quiet, which I guess is expected for a Sunday. We ordered and were informed the food will take about 10 minutes to be ready as it is cooked fresh. 1 x mixed shawarma, 1 x Chicken shish and 1 x chips to share. Food arrived and we were offered salad/sauces. Both were extremely limited, the salad is just a mixed salad of lettuce, carrot and cabbage. So no option to pick the items you fancy, like in a normal kebab house as the salad they offer is already pre-mixed. Sauce options were chilli or BBQ, which I found a little odd. The chips were soggy and all stuck together in one big ball, the portions we both agreed were small and my partner said he got hardly any meat in his mixed shawarma. Pricey for what it was, had high hopes and they are sadly not met."

"Horrible service, tasteless food almost sure the source of my son vomiting the next morning. On a Saturday night the restaurant only had one diner, I was standing at the counter for 5 minutes before being served by a gentleman with the personality of a wet towel. Can only guess that these positive reviews are for a Shiraz Restaurant in another location."
