"I had great hopes for a (hopefully) new fave Indian restaurant in Currambine and booked in advance to secure a seat. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by reception staff taking phone orders and were ignored for several minutes. We were eventually shown...to a table for two in a busy, middle corridor of the restaurant. I hated our table location, but was equally grateful not to be seated in one of their many cramped booths. I found their menu limited and disappointing. We ordered pappadum and raita and were served a massive bowl of raita and two stingy pappadums. When our mains arrived, I took one look at my shiny, bright red butter chicken full of clumps of unappetising meat and thought....well, this doesn't look right. I could barely take two bites. It was foul. When the waiter came to clear our meals, he asked how the food was. Well, he could see that our meals were uneaten and when I said very nicely that it did not meet our expectations and tasted nothing like Indian curry, he asked me if I was joking. We were asked when we sat down at 6pm to clear our table by 7:30pm for the next diners. We had no problem with that: we were gone by 6:30pm. The worst meal I have had in years. Avoid. Avoid. I'm offended that we wasted a precious evening out at Shehnai Tandoori Currambine. They should be ashamed for their poor service, reception, awful seating and inedible food. I believe this review is generous."
