"In a food court but fresh and tasty. Sizable chicken pita (can get any kind) along with a good size salad (garden, caesar, Greek or pasta available) for under 9$, tax in. Service is friendly and fast. I'd go back!"

"Such a gorgeous little restaurant tucked away on Bank street. Portions and pricing are reasonable. The owner is a very kind and warm person, who you can tell works hard as he was working front of house, serving, and cooking in the kitchen as well. Would recommend to those looking for a comfort meal. Nothing flashy, just good food and good atmosphere :"

"The food: is decent and has an authentic taste. I also enjoyed the spice in it (I had a Very Hot dish - the Lamb Madras;) however, my partner did not because she could not handle spice very well and the menu only had 3 options for the Milk Dishes. But I think the flavour and spiciness of the food were very well-done, from an Indian-food perspective.Take-out service: When I arrived to get my food, one of the owners looked at me strangely as if they were not expecting customers or so. They asked me what I needed and I said I had made an order. They looked through all of their receipts and data on their ipad, then asked me if I called or ordered online. I said online and it had already been paid for. Then without no confirmation or further questions, they kept looking and ran into the kitchen. The other owner told me to wait a bit. In about 5 minutes or so, they came out with a food bag and told me that was mine. The strange things were that, they never asked for my name, what I ordered, and never provided a receipts with the food. I was cautious and checked the food before I left but the pick-up process was not so pleasant. The food portion and the price: The portion was very small for the price of the food. We ordered the "Main dishes," one Lamb Madras and one Chicken Bhoona. Each came in the medium-sized styrofoam (16oz) and each cost at least $13 each (without rice or naan bread.) We also ordered the appetizer Shaami Kebab, which was supposed to come with onion rings, tomato and lemon wedges. It did not come with these sides and the appetizer contained 2 pieces (which were not stated in the menu).Overall, I find that although Golden Indian offered very tasty food, the price is quite high for how much food we got. We have our other usual go-to places where offer similarly tasty food at similar price, but much larger portions that a group can actually share if we were to order multiple main dishes. Hence it is unlikely that I will order from this place again. Plus the pick-up service also made it seem like they did not make an effort to keep customers."

"This restaurant catered to a cruise in Ottawa River for Canada day. VERY disappointing! They call it Indian but don't know how to cook! Save your money go elsewhere."

"We did our biking and food adventure in Ottawa and have this as one of our stopovers. This is my rank 1 food item in my first trip to Ottawa. I still can’t get over about the “Hot Fatteh Bowl”. I am trying to search here in Toronto but can’t find one. It’s really special!! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED if you dine in."

"Food lacks balance. very small portions versus price. very dark dining room with cold and guinded service. I like to pay for quality, but not for an unnecessary decorum. Not for me!"
