"We admit that we nearly decided to give Al-Oi a miss due to the previous rating, but had very limited choices within the region that time. The food was actually reasonable. We ordered a prawn wrapped with potato strings as entree, which was average. For mains we had sweet&sour prawn and deep-fried baby snapper, and both are done with reasonable standard, compared to what we had when travelling to Thailand. I especially like the fish which was freshly fried crispy with a good accompany of the sauce. The prawns were also really fresh and cooked just well which gave them tender and chewy texture. "We happened to be in the area and came across Purple Hayes by chance, what a wonderful obliging team, they were fully booked, but helped us by allowing us to go in early and have a meal, which was excellent... The history that was shared by the owner the joy with which they operated and the soundings so very well done.... Great job guys - may you grow & prosper...
