"This has always been a holiday favourite but it felt extra special this time, so much so we visited several times for Sunday roast and quiz, a drink and takeaway and then a few drinks and a late lunch. Service was great every time, very friendly and helpful, and the pub generally was brilliant with a local but friendly vibe. We've been here many times in the past and it's always been good but this year it felt a cut above."

"What an amazing little gem of a pub/restaurant. Had an amazing meal in this charming place. The staff were so friendly and helpful and the food was outstanding. A must visit if you are in the vicinity best place for vegan food around. And...apparently (according to my wife) the fish was stunning too."

"We popped into the Pancake Hut this week whilst on holiday in the area. By day it is the popular tea room at Pinetum Park/Park Lodge Gardens, but on Tuesday to Saturday evenings the cafe becomes a tribute to flat circular foodstuffs! Things start with a wide range of savoury omelettes which, if my salmon and spinach based Florentine is anything to go by, are a feast for both the eyes and the stomach. And then of course there are the pancakes......the idea of which excited the girls from the moment they first saw the signs! Pancake wise the variations go from your traditional basic sugar lemon pancake day variety through to American style dessert pancake stacks. There are plenty of choices, and the proprietors also have no problem if you want to devise your own from the ingredients they have available. Our collective opinion on the food was that it was very good to excellent, and the customer service was excellent all round. Things are a little limited if you want a full three course meal; after all omelette followed by pancake would be egg overload, however I don't think that's the idea of the place. That said there are meal options available for the under 11 year olds, and they looked like good value. However my girls were very happy with yummy garlic bread to start followed by their pancake stacks, and I followed up my omelette with a delicious pear and toffee cake from the Cafe selection. In summary, if you are in the mood for an outstanding omelette or a perfect pancake head over to the Hut....it comes highly recommended!"

"Stopped in Helston needing lunch and chose this excellent establishment. They had just sold out of the fresh crab salad so we chose to have the Mediterranean salad and the smoked salmon, mackerel, prawn salad to share with each other. The food was superb and beautifully presented and we both thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Nearly a 5 star but for slowness of service and the inclusion of Feta not the advertised Halloumi in the Mediterranean salad."
