"Pepper Lunch in busy Gouger Street is an ideal place for a quick lunch for those with limited time or for a casual laid back dinner where you can sit at the tables on the Gouger Street footpath and watch the world walk past. The meals are a good size, the produce is fresh and tasty and best of all the menu is cheap but this does not take away from the quality. It's a venue that suits all whether rushing for a meal on a busy work day, taking the family for a well priced dinner or enjoying a late night meal with a glass of wine. On the three occasions I have been to the venue there have been no complaints about the food or service. Best of all you can't complain about the way the food is cooked.......that's your problem."

"Attended with three business colleagues to this recently renovated Gouger St Chinese eatery, and had the yum cha lunch, a selection of standard items competently cooked but with little flair. Service was an immediate problem with difficulty attracting staff for any drinks or supplemental orders, and coffee orders being actually forgotten. The service got markedly worse when we tried to pay for what ended up being quite an expensive lunch when we were told we couldn’t split the account! So, four business people couldn’t split the account 4 ways? Instead of reason and compromise were told we’d ‘been told before’ which was not the case, and directed to the fine print in an evening menu that we had not been given. There was no attempt to assist us or put the customer first, their message being that it was essentially all our fault, we will never be back."
